Staff were nice and friendly. Bed was uncomfortable. Room was way too hot and AC was set at 67. It never cooled down. Hotel was noisy. Lots of weed smell for a nonsmoking hotel.

Disliked: Cleanliness
You get what you pay for - the golden rule. Staff was friendly. Breakfast was pretty sad. The hallway was not vacuumed in weeks most likely, our sheets had a variety of stains - primarily what looked like little blood stains, the room cleanliness was very superficial. The rooms were well worn.
The upside as I said before was the friendly staff, and also good location. We weren’t upset because we got what we paid for.
The night check-in lady was always pleasant, and the new management is working to update the property. Those were all the positives. The towels provided had small hair embedded all over both sides, the microwave didn't turn because the wheel was missing, there was a newer iron but no board to iron on, the a/c couldn't keep up with the outside heat, we were missing a pillow, there was hair painted into the wall, the walls and doors were extremely dirty, there were small curly and long strands of red hair in the tub, on the ice container tray, and surrounding the floor outside the tub. Inside the tub and on the desk pubic hair was found. We had an issue we are still waiting to resolve with getting double charged. The absolute worst was my child picked up a dirty, used tattoo needle that was on the floor near the bed. I wrapped it in tissue and plastic to bring down to the woman at the desk and the ink bled a bit, so it was fresh. The woman didn't even take it, told me to come back later to talk to the manager. The manager was nice, but tried to blame previous management. I stand by my statement that dirty towels, hair all around the bathroom, and a dirty needle is a current issue. I hope it was taken seriously and that steps are taken to improve the service as much as they are attempting to improve the building itself. There has still been no concern for my child to see if she was injured - this includes from the hotel, the manager, and from Choice Hotels who I also contacted.
I thought the channel guide was terrible unless I didn’t know how to use it. The breakfast bar on Saturday morning at 7:15 left a lot to be desired. There was one piece of bread and one muffin. I guess there was waffle mix, didn’t try it . We went to Hardees

Disliked: Cleanliness
I want to start off by saying I know I am not staying at the best place possible but after looking at reviews I saw that someone from the hotel has answered pretty much every review. So I figured they really care and it cant be that bad.
I would give this place a 4 overall if the room was just simply clean. I started my experience off nice checking in with the lady at the front desk. Super easy and simple! I went to my room and this is where the reason for my 2 star comes in to play. I walk in and you can tell the rooms have recently been updated which was good. My problem started when there was a giant dust web hanging on the ceiling… after that I put my stuff down and as I do at any place I stay, I inspected the bed. The sheets did not fit the bed at all. I had 4 pillows 3 of them were unusable due to the fact that they were 3 years old and sweat through with stains. The pillows were yellow from how disgusting they were. One of my pillow cases was not clean at all. Had dirt and black marks on it. So I had one usable pillow that was up to date and clean. I still wrapped one of my clean shirts around it and slept in regular clothes to feel at least safe to sleep there.
Next which is not a huge deal, the toilet was clogged when ai first used the bathroom, so they never checked it to see.
And the biggest reason for leaving this review is because there was a USED giant red band-aid on the floor right next to the bed. This is absolutely disgusting. I do have pictures…

Staff was very friendly. rooms were OK. Beds were comfortable. Needs some updating but they are working on that!
Dirty old shoes left in the closet, bathroom door was covered in what I am going to assume was BBQ sauce splatter for the sake of my own sanity. It was pretty gross. Staff was nice though.

The Smoky Reality
Behind all the fog of truth is that this hotel is a step above the truck stop experience, and appears to be what it offers...a lowest cost alternative. Found a few cob webs in the room, some debris around the base of the bed, but it slept - The towels and sheets were all clean, but dingy. The non-smoking room was clearly smoky. The breakfast quality was entry level - diluted juices, apple/orange, "waffles". It's great for a man stay, but not a family stop in my opinion.
Sorry to say, but very poor service from this hotel. Refrigerator in room was in need of repair and we were told they could trade it out for one from another room, which never happened, even after a second request as I needed it to keep food cold. Our room was not cleaned the first day, someone came by after. 2 pm, which is normally check-in time, but we were napping. We went out for the evening, and asked again to have it cleaned as we were in need of towels and fresh coffee in room. Had to go to front desk and pick it up myself. Will not stay here ever again! Only here because of my mom's funeral.
As I said, a bad apple...hopefully won't spoil the entire chain. This place is in dire need of a deep cleaning ,especially the room we were in...sticky dusty abounded, light fixtures needing repair and of course the refrigerator.
Also, a lack of concern from the staff!
Stay elsewhere.
Stayed for two nights. After the first night I had to move to a different room. The toilet ran all night long. The shower was luck warm and never got hot even after switching rooms.
This was almost the worst stay at a hotel that I have ever had. The request I made for adjoining rooms, was ignored. And when I asked again the next day for adjoining rooms, I was told that the room was already registered for someone else who will be arriving. Then on Sunday, upon checking out, I was told that they didn't know who to adjoin my room to. But I reserved two rooms together with my name and my niece name, so those are the two rooms that I wanted to adjoin. Then every time we left our room and came back, Our cards were deactivated. We had to keep going to the front desk to activate it and the manager was standoffish and kept saying we must have deactivate it with our phones, which I kept telling him we didn't. I did not have a shower curtain in my room and my room smelled of stale smoke. We had to go through the hotel to track down the luggage cart to move our luggage to the room. There was a small smell of marijuana in the hallways. I would never stay here again.
Very good hotel in Thomasville, NC. Minor mildew in bathtub area (room 102). Everything worked great except WiFi. Signal was not strong enough to stay connected or allow any work to be done online. I reported this at checkout, and the clerk acknowledged she had received multiple complaints.
