Kolkuós Guesthouse

"The Kolkuós Guesthouse is a hidden gem! We really enjoyed the the quiet, secluded location right on the shore. The house is beautifully remodeled and furnished and very clean. Breakfast was amazing and served in the quaint dining room. The staff was pleasant and extremely helpful. The Kolkuós Guesthouse was by far our favorite place to stay on our trip to Iceland!"

"This was one of our favorite favourite stays on our Ring Road trip. The hotel is a historical landmark and you can tell that the staff is proud of it. The front desk staff person was super friendly and helpful as was the restaurant staff. We were very lucky to be upgraded to a suite by the water outside of the main hotel due to our Expedia platinum status. It was an absolutely wonderful space! We had an excellent dinner at the restaurant - also one of the best during our trip. The burrata appy was incredible! And there is a complimentary breakfast buffet - the first and only complimentary buffet on the trip and it was also excellent. Overall, we are so glad we chose Hotel Blonduos. Thanks to the hotel team for a memorable stay!"

"Located in Hofsos, small town, as others have noted, the details says restaurant but there is not one on site or even in the town. There is a convenience store across the street that has pizza and sub sandwiches, that is the only nearby dining option. The kitchen is nice but small. The whole time we were there two ladies in the other room camped out in it. Be aware also that it's not clear the actual property from the photos but it's the 8th or 9th photo. Not the black house. The rooms are simple but clean. Shower is a little small but you have your own. The local pool was great, stunning views and a nice little walk after off to the side to view basalt cliffs."

"Exceeded expectations - garage property converted to a nice loft apartment with a bedroom and upstairs loft - brand new design - access to laundry and kitchen (no oven) - very spacious with high ceilings - waterfront view and convenient location in an industrial stop-over type town"

"Super cute place once I found it. The tools are located above a tiny grocery store and I hadn’t realized that. Don’t let the store deter you from booking. I arrived around 8, it was closed. Parking lot of 4-6 spaces were empty. All good, very quiet and peaceful. Very nice area right by the water. The only reason I’m giving this a 4 out of 5 is that there was NO ONE else booked in the entire place and I did not have a room facing the water? Had I, I would have had a stunning view of the water and sunset probably. I had to go in the kitchen area to watch the sunset."
