Gruene Vacations

"Gruene River Hotel + Retreat is a FANTASTIC place for the complete "hotel experience." Each room is individually decorated, and it's a joy to make little discoveries in the decor that contribute to the overall theme. We've stayed in the 1776 Room, The Vineyard and Cozy Cabin, and all were fantastic. The breakfast is first rate, they serve free beer and wine for happy hour, and the property is just beautiful, with its limestone and multi-level deck where you can watch the river flow and see deer...

"Good location for easy access to the I-35 corridor. Could hear the interstate noise, however, and although I had reserved a king bed room, they only had 2 queen bed rooms available. The room had a mildew smell, damp carpet and cracked sink."
