"My partner and I booked this property however when we arrived at 7pm, there was a large gate blocking the entrance and no one was there. We tried and tried to call and message the property and never received a response. La Fortuna is somewhat out in the country without many on the spot lodging options. It took us until 945 pm before we were able to get a far from desirable accommodations. We were preparing to sleep in our car by that time. We have yet to receive a refund or response. There...

"We had to change last minute and the Villas Macadamia had a casita. Turned out to be the best place we have stayed. Plenty of space for the whole family, close to town and quiet. "

"This is a truly a magical place. It is close enough to the Arenal touristy area but private and tucked away in nature. You will not only be in clouds but also above the clouds sometimes and hear the rain below!The one thing people might note is that the road to this place is not fully paved. So the access is a bit bumpy. But if you are truly looking for a remote place it comes with the package. The host is super responsive and helpful. "There is no better view of the volcano than at this property. It is right next to a soda, so easy to get food. The cabin was upgraded, and had everything you needed for a night in or just a pass thru. Close to all area attractions. Hosts were super helpful in giving you local gems. Would highly recommend!"
