This is exactly what a roadside motel should be: clean, friendly, comfortable, affordable, and easy to find. While our room was on the small side, the views just steps away from your door are spectacular.

When I checked in Jade was so pleasant! She checked me in quickly and told me to be sure to ask her if I needed anything else. She gave me directions to places to eat and also the art center in the Redwoods. My room was very clean and comfortable. I would definitely stay at the Surf Inn again!

This place is just perfect for a stay in Gualala. The owner/manager is so wonderful, she is so nice and accommodating. Itโ€™s been 15 years since my last stay prior to this one. Iโ€™ll definitely be back! Beautiful serene place on the property to watch the sunset as well๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

New Simmons Beautyrest beds with a pillow top are super cozy. Unbelievable location nearest Gualala River meets Pacific Ocean. Morning breakfast offered a wide variety of items and a fancy coffee single serve machine. Staff was very friendly. Plenty of parking.

Fab location. Ocean right in the property. Walking distance to several restaurants and grocery options. Comfortable bed and pillows. Shampoo & body wash in the shower. Water pressure and temp could be improved but not complaining, for the price this is a great stay!

Nice property. Very chill environment. I had the beach view room which was great to wake up to and hear the waves crashing in the middle of the night. Very friendly staff, shout outs to jade for being so kind and sweet. Definitely will be going back in the near future.

Jade at the office was one of the best service people I've come across in all my time, did everything she could to make us as comfortable as possible, voluntarily. Couldn't be happier. The continental breakfast was nothing too unusual, however it was done with care rather than just placed out junk sweets. Just one example is the hard boiled eggs weren't overdone by an hour or whatever they do at most hotels that turn the yolks into green dry clumps. I usually don't bother with reviews even with reasonably decent places because "nice" but nothing outstanding doesn't help, but this was definitely worth finding.

We had a really great stay at this hotel and would highly recommend it! First of all, the staff were absolutely amazing, super friendly, welcoming, and always helpful, which made the whole experience feel very comfortable and enjoyable. We stayed in an oceanview room, and it was incredibly spacious. The view was honestly stunning. Breakfast was fairly simple, but the grab-and-go setup was actually very convenient, especially on days when we had plans and needed something quick before heading out. Overall, everything from the service to the room and the view exceeded our expectations. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting, and we would happily stay here again!
