"Great little guesthouse in a good location. Room was spacious, comfy and clean. We got free water everyday which was nice. Plenty of parking space. Lots of noise from the guests opposite until late but I think we were just unlucky."

"Misleading Photos of the home! The primary view is obstructed by a house that is currently under construction directly in front of the ocean view. While the home is spacious for a family there are several critical details missing from the listing. 1.) 75% of the the ocean view is gone. 2.) There is only one bedroom on the main floor; the two other rooms are downstairs only accessible by an external stairway. We had to forgo the master bedroom as we couldn’t leave our two kids on the lower level alone at night. 3.) The pool is failing as the grout is deteriorating and leaving piles of tile grout sand on the floor of the pool. Overall it was a disappointing stay as even the photos were obviously very dated. The local Thai house manager “Tan” was amazing and very helpful upon arrival and answered all of our questions. To the host: please advise future guests of the major view obstruction, advise guests of the construction noise from 9am to 8pm and update the listing photos. Overall not a disaster stay but disappointing."

"A huge thanks to our host David and also to Tan and Chit who look after the property each day. The pillows were super comfy, bedding fresh, and rooms spotless. Access is straight to the beach with a beautiful view from the house and gardens.There are a few bars and restaurants in walking distance but generally we found that we needed to go into lamai to get to a nicer beach area and more bars, as the water depth by the villa was always very low (perhaps march low tides).Chit cooked dinner for us one evening for a small cheffing fee plus ingredients and it was one of the best meals of the holiday.David was very helpful with local tips and really responsive to any questions we had.We did lots of day trips on Koh Samui and found the villa a perfect base and sanctuary at the end of a long hot day."

"There were restaurants and lots of cheap massage places right outside the property within walking distance. There was also a 7 eleven and another little store for snacks within walking distance. They had a free shuttle to Lamai beach every few hours. The property was very nice. I didn't really know what to expect from a hotel named "Thai Fight Hotel" but I was very pleased with my stay there. The staff was very friendly and nice. My room was very nice and the view was phenominal. I will stay there again. "

"The Rock was a beautiful place. Staff was amazing and the place itself is beautiful. We stayed in the ocean front villa, which is actually three separate “rooms”. A kitchen - stove, fridge, toaster and toaster oven, kettle, etc, with place to sit to eat and a toilet. Then two separate suites for sleeping etc. We were two couples, so perfect for us. Pool is amazing and there’s a nice shady room right off the pool to get out of the sun. Beach is pretty, but not a swimming beach. When the tide is very high you could get in, but otherwise, too shallow and coral right off shore. This place is walkable to Lamai beach, but it’s about 20 minutes, about ten minutes along a very busy road. You can’t get to Lamai by walking on the beach (big rocks in the way). There are a few restaurants in the other direction, but again, you’re walking along a busy road. The Rock itself serves breakfast and lunch. Their kitchen closes at 4pm. A small breakfast was included with our room, which was a beautiful cappuccino and two small, delicious waffles, all delivered to our kitchen. The staff at the Rock is exceptional, and accommodated us wonderfully. They helped us arrange massages in our rooms, and guided us to finding restaurants, etc. Our flight was in the evening, well after checkout, but we were able to stay in the poolside room all day. "
