Any time we are in or near Guethary we stay here. It has been five years and the excellent standard has not changed. They continuously update where need be. This time it was during a heatwave and the continuously cooled rooms are the recipe for a great night’s sleep, not counting the superbly soft white cotton sheets. Coming back again, that’s for sure.

Excellent location and the family is very involved with everything from check in to the restaurant. The only thing was we wished we had more time to dine in the restaurant it looked amazing!

Farmhouse like setting in countryside. Small village in walking distance. Quiet and serene. Surrounded by hills, trees, country. Room decor could be upgraded. Coffee maker in room would be a plus to the experience. Hosts are helpful and friendly.

We visited Hotel La Marisa for three nights in September with friends and chose the hotel based on location and value. It definitely succeeded on both fronts! The location in St. Jean de Luz is perfect - close to the beach plus walking distance of all the main restaurants and shops in the town. We had a corner room with a balcony on the beach side of the hotel, which was perfect for us. Two windows plus a large glass double door allowed ocean breezes to pass through which was a real treat. The room was very clean, the added breakfast was fresh and healthy with locally sourced breads, juices and cheeses. The room is directly over the beach promenade, which made for some noise from early morning cleaning crews. However the tightly fitting double pane windows will easily block it out if...

Hotel St-Julian is the perfect way to experience the town and unique neighborhoods of Biarritz. Phillip and his wife are the best of host. Four star that could be a five star. Excellent staff, beautiful rooms, and if you book ocean views from the 3rd floor … be prepared for gorgeous views of the beach and ocean across the street.

The owner of Hotel Les Goelands is a gem of a person. Although we had a bit of a problem checking-in, he more than made up for our inconvenience with his conscientious, affable and charming personality. Hotel Les Goelands is a lovingly operated family business that has been in existence for 90 years.
