"The experience was incredible good. We traveled driving from Porto to ACoruña. And stayed here for two days. The first and last of our trip. We travel a lot and this place really was a good experience. Perfect and simple design with great attention to details. The cleaning is immaculate . We have the opportunity meeting the owner. "Maria's house is wonderful. The kids enjoyed the pool, welcome respite during the heat. There is a yoga area for relaxation and stretching. We loved using the churrasco at nighttime. Maria gave us plenty of recommendations for places to visit, restaurants etc as well as helping us secure tickets for the islas de cíes. Andrew unforgettable stay!"

"Being in old Valença was like being on an island with fantastic views from anywhere in the hotel. The breakfast food was good, the staff friendly and efficient, and the hotel ambiance was understated, quiet, and comfortable. We brought our car—easy parking—but arrival by train or coach would have been fine. Once inside the Fortaleza de Valença, there was no need to leave."
