"1). Superlative location close to rail, tram, & bus connections. 2). Rooms are undeniably small, BUT clean, quiet, and with comfortable beds, fluffy towels. We rested very well! I thought the hall carpet looked a bit scruffy. 3). We didn't sample other amenities, but tea & coffee are at reception and are good. 4) We did wonder what the plan was for exit in the event of fire. This should be clearly notified IMHO"

"Good location for local transit. Breakfast was extra £12 pp but well worth the cost! Room was clean and comfortable. Would stay here again recommend it to others."

"It required a lot of steps to access the front desk and the breakfast area. While the outside ramp was useful for the front desk, it was no help with the breakfast area. (My wife has a bad hip and needs a cane.) The location was excellent and Grassmarket Park was lovely."

"Easy checkin . Hotel is beautiful with tons of amenities in hotel. Had room with view of Edinburgh Castle which was beautiful ! Spacious room- breakfast was amazing with both hot and cold options. We had a car and paid minimal fee for parking. Hotel located in heart of downtown Edinburgh"

"The hotel was very nice. Enjoyed the deep bathtub with a relaxing bath after a cold day of walking around Edinburgh Castle. The staff was especially wonderful, helping us with questions about the heater and tub faucets. I didn't get her name, but I believe she was the manager or someone in charge, very accommodating and friendly and to Katie at the front desk who was very helpful and always pleasant and friendly."
