"The Montcalm has the potential to be a beautiful hotel but needs updating to match the rooftop bar. The rooms are currently out of date and poorly thought through- fine to sleep in but not somewhere you'd relax in. The spa was very small and overcrowded and the smell of chlorine traveled through the hotel. The service, however, was polite and helpful and the club drinks spot on. "

"I was moved to the Crown Plaza re maintenance work being carried out at Holiday in Express Old Street. Lovely hotel however this added 1hr each day for travelling over to Shoreditch on the tube which I was trying to avoid using. The hotel was clean however I was quite amazed that they only clean, replenish tea/coffee/water if you ask! this is not done on a daily basis. "

The hotel would have been out of our budget normally but our apartment booking with VRBO did not exist on their site, so they have us a choice of hotels to stay for 1 night. The hotel was much further away from where we thought and the breakfast was not included... So we invited a lot of extras costs. It did feel like the hotel was under occupied.... Like no one in the bar. If I'd been paying for the hotel I would have pointed...
