Øster Hurup is a former fishing village that has developed into a lively coastal town with a beach, vacation homes, stores and restaurants. The marina attracts both locals and visitors to its waterfront restaurants, while the area's namesake sandy beach offers opportunities for kayaking and stand-up paddling. During the summer, various music events and car shows are held and are well worth attending.
