Stayed in the cabin. It was comfortable and clean. Nice view of the ocean. The staff was helpful. It would have been better if there were instruction on how to use some of the amenities.

I wish I could give this place more than five stars! Luxurious and peaceful, with very well appointed rooms and endless thoughtful amenities. Very kind hosts (the cats and the humans alike). My husband is allergic to cats and had no issues in the cat-free room, while I very much enjoyed visiting with the cats on the well decorated lanai’s and grounds. A magical stay from start to finish. Mahalo!

We were so surprised when we rolled up on this property. It was well maintained & beautifully landscaped. The cottage was decorated with a colorful flair. The bathroom was roomy & had a big shower. The porch looked out over the property facing the ocean & great sunrises. We stayed 4 nights & were genuinely sad to leave. After 10 days traveling, this was the perfect place to relax

We absolutely loved our stay at Mahana House. The staff was always available and attentive to our needs. The location is excellent. The beauty of the surroundings is what Hawaii is all about. I had tea in the common kitchen area every morning and it was always spotless. It is also conveniently located to Hilo and close to scenic spots such as Waipio.

The property grounds were beautiful and serene. We were so happy we chose this place outside the hustle and bustle of Hilo. The trip into Hilo was about 20 minutes, but the drive was beautiful and worth the peacefulness of the property. There were many sites to see within a few miles, such as Akaka falls and the Botanical Gardens.

Our stay at Mahana House was wonderful! Beautiful setting, room was clean, very comfortable bed and we had our own private lanai and small kitchen, as well as use of the common full kitchen, great room and lanai. Every possible thing we could have needed was available to us. It is obvious the owners put a lot of thought into our comfort. An easy 20 drive in to Hilo. Thank you, Mahana House, for a fabulous stay! I highly recommend!!!

We had a wonderful stay! The place was very nice, spotless, and well maintained. You can really tell the host puts a lot of care into the home. On top of that, the owner is an incredibly kind person who has adopted disabled cats — which honestly made the experience even more special. Such a big heart and genuine hospitality. Highly recommend staying here, and we would absolutely come back!

Wonderful host, clean room and grounds - pretty ocean view with lots of bird species to watch from the patio. Very easy check-in and fantastic communication with the host. Fresh fruit and homemade cookies too! We would definitely come back and recommend it to other travelers.
