Aloha and welcome to our Hawaiian Celebration. Hale Laule'a at Opihi Point is a 5-acre private, multi-million dollar estate retreat estate completed March 2019 consisting of two stand alone apartments and two Bed and Breakfast Suites off the main house. All 4 short term rental spaces are luxurious that are separate, each having their own exterior entrances sitting on 5 acres oceanfront in a beautiful jungle on the Hamaku'a Coast. Hale Laule'a translates to "House of Peace" and our intention is for you to come here to rest, relax, and enjoy the most beautiful part of Hawaii, the Hamaku'a Coast. We have several inhouse programs that are optional to help you experience your own Hawaiian Celebration or Ho'olaule'a. We also host boutique celebrations or events on property up to 50 guests.

Designed to be net-zero estate, Hale Laule'a is made of recycled and sustainable materials, makes its own electricity and water, and is working to grow most of its own food on site. The property includes a micro orchard; a small animal area; multi-use areas; horse areas with multiple riding arenas and multiple, private gardens including the spectacular lower garden surrounded 270 degrees by the ocean.

The space for rent is the Solar Apartment, a separate, detached apartment adjacent to the Main house. The Solar Suite is a studio, 2 room apartment with its own parking, entrance and yard. Completed in June 2020, this space is approximately 630sf and consists of a studio bedroom with a queen size bed, custom dining table with 4 chairs, desk, pull out sofa couch and coffee table. The second room is the kitchenette with glasses, dishes, and silverware. Cooking is no issue, as there is an induction cooktop, full-sized microwave, dutch door oven, refrigerator with icemaker, coffee pot, and blender. There is a large custom closet. The luxurious bathroom has a private bidet toilet, and there is even a view of the ocean from the rain shower. The windows and doors all have screens so you can enjoy the breezes and sounds of the waves. This apartment rivals the best at any luxury hotel you can imagine, with all furniture, doors and windows custom made of teak, exposed beams in the ceiling, and special architect details throughout. Your panoramic view is unobstructed, with the Pacific Ocean only a stone's throw from your double french doors and private garden. The apartment is adjacent to the back lanai of the main house and the swimming pool. Guests do have full use of the main house pool and back lanai facility, and all garden spaces. A laundry facility is located onsite and available to guests through a concierge service. Weekly and monthly stays are discounted and include weekly cleaning and linen service.

While staying at the Solar Apartment, a typical day would start by drinking a cup of coffee or tea watching the most beautiful sunrise on the Pacific Ocean from your bed, the lower garden, or pool deck of Hale Laule'a. After coffee, go on a 2-mile round trip walk to Hakalau Beach Park taking in views of Mauna Kea, waterfalls and lush tropical plants. When you arrive at the beach, it will most likely be all yours as you explore the ruins of an old sugar plantation and look in amazement of the natural beauty of Hawaii. Once back, you can jump into the pool for a refreshing swim in the 25-meter lap lane or play a game of volleyball in the sports area of the pool. When done, settle into the lower garden on Hale Laule'a with a good book or do Yoga or meditation session in any of our four gardens. After lunch, walk the gardens, visit the farmers market, or arrange for an optional in-house experience. During the winter months, watch the whales frolic right off the property. At night, enjoy the back lanai of the main house by the fireplace, or get into the spa and watch the stars unfold. For privacy, head to the lower garden and sit by yourself surrounded by the ocean on three sides with waves crashing on the rocks below as you drift away to another world in one of the most beautiful spots on this earth. Anything you want is possible and arrangements can be made with the host.

Additional activity arrangements for guests can be made by the host to include Horse Experience, a Land Experience or a Water Experience. You can also make a private appointment for Lifestyle Medicine consultation with Dr. Jennifer Walker. For special occasions, guests can arrange for private parties such as weddings or other intimate events.

There are many animals on the property such as horses, dogs, ducks, and a tortoise. All the animals are friendly and are in specific areas. They will not bother guests, though you can arrange to spend time with them. For more information about what is possible, contact the host.

Peaceful Accommodation 13 Miles from Hilo

The accommodation was as the extensive description stated. Chad is a very enthusiastic and complete host! His welcome, though in part required, was expanded into an enjoyable, educational event in itself! The grounds are peaceful, the pool welcomed, the furnishings comfortable, and the technology capable. For the most part, a vehicle is required. However, this property could serve as a short sequestered personal retreat site if one brings in food. I would not hesitate to stay here again!
