"Beautiful resort with ocean and Banyan tree views, a yummy breakfast buffet, and an outdoor pool. Great location by the water and downtown Hilo. We definitely recommend this resort."

"You’ll be surprised how fast you will get used to not having an AC. Fans and open windows work, but bring sleep mask and earplugs, because coqui frogs get loud in front of the house and in seafront rooms you’ll have those screened windows open. Owners made us feel truly welcomed."

"The Hamakua was amazing. It was everything you could want in a boutique hotel. The grounds are beautiful and immaculately kept. The every room has an incredible view of gardens overlooking the Pacific. The staff, Belle and Sabrina were the best, If you are there for one of Chef Joseph’s meals don’t miss it!"
