Beautiful Hana, Near Waianapanapa State Park. STR 216/0003 TA186-656-9728-01
Situated on a well groomed acre, Luana Cottage offers privacy as well as easy access to hiking, swimming, and exploring the beautiful Eastern side of Maui. Reverse Osmosis drinking water and solar hot water (with electric backup), along with a complete kitchen and living area, assure all the comforts of home. There are two bedrooms, each with a comfortable queen bed and full bathroom. Beaches and Hiking: Take a 5 minute walk to Waianapanapa State Park to watch the sun rise. There are fruit stands to gather your breakfast along the way. Wiggle your toes in the black sand beach. Take a swim in the sparkling ocean or hike along the 'Kings Trail' and take in the beauty of the black arches, blow holes, sea turtles and whales (when in season) along the coastal path. Snorkel in the calm waters of Hana Bay or take the short hike to Red Sands. Just 2 miles from Hana town is Koki and Hamoa beach. A great place to watch the surfers or boogie board yourself. Just 10 miles from Hana is Ohe'o Gulch with the 7 Sacred Pools. Take an amazing hike through the bamboo forest to Waimoku falls. Keep going and visit Palapala Ho'omau Church, and the grave of Charles Lindbergh.
Hana: Hana is like stepping back in time to what Hawaii was like 30 years ago before high rise condos and shopping centers. You can find all the gifts you would need such as Aloha shirts, homemade jellies and jewelry at the local stands or quaint shops. The beauty of the area and the genuine Aloha spirit of the people make this a truly special place

We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 nights in Luana Cottage. It was so close to Waianapanapa State park we went there a couple of times, absolutely beautiful. We also had fun checking out all the fruit trees and flowers located on the cottage property. I’m going to recommend this cottage to my friends that want to visit Hana. Thank you for sharing your slice of heaven with us.
Loved this house! We enjoyed all the fruit trees on the property and everything was clean, comfortable and spacious. Easy to communicate with host. Would not hesitate to return! Mahalo
Comfortable, clean home on large property with beautiful flowers, lush plants, and fruit trees. Loved the fresh avocados and bananas! Even without air-conditioning, the fans were sufficient to keep us cool.
This was an incredible house for our family summer vacation. My husband and I have visited Maui before, but this was the first time for the kids and they had an absolute blast.
The house is at a great location - close to town and the beaches, and has everything you need for a Maui getaway.
We had a wonderful stay. The property is beautiful with many fruit trees. The house was great with everything you would need and very clean. So many things to do and restaurants close by. We would definitely come back again.
Excellent location and absolutely beautiful grounds and gardens.
We spent two nights at the property. We’re so glad we had extra time in Hana. We really enjoyed the covered porch with the nice breeze. The kitchen had everything we needed, and we appreciated the extra touches like having a jar of local coffee and the coffee presses. I was pleasantly surprised by the water pressure and the wonderful hot water from the solar system! And the outside shower was fantastic! If we’re ever lucky enough to come back to Hana, we would definitely stay here again.
Hāna is a lovely place away from any hustle or bustle! We enjoyed the beaches and parks very much. Frisbee in the yard amidst fruit trees was very fun. The home kept us well and well rested with all needed amenities available. Thank you so much!
The property was exactly as described. Beautiful large fruit tree garden property within walking distance to Waianapanapa State Park's black sand beach. Home was very clean and well-stocked. The owner's housekeeper left fresh fruit for us on the day we checked in. Owner was very responsive to questions before our arrival.
This accommodation is centrally located to the town of Hana and the Waianapanapa State Park. The home is beautiful and clean inside with good privacy from neighbors. There are numerous fruit trees on the property (Citrus, avocado, star fruit) and it's a joy to pick. Fresh flowers are on the grounds as well. Wonderful having towels provided for the beach and a clothes washer. Would be nice to have had a bbq though. You are on the road to Waianapanapa State Park, but it is not an easy walk as this road is narrow and has a fair amount of tourist traffic, besides you need reservations whether driving or walking in. I would stay here again.
Our only regret for our stay is that we didn’t plan to stay longer. For anyone who wants to experience relaxation in a quiet and lush paradise then Hana is the place for you. The property is beautiful, with a wonderful Lanai (patio) to enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner. Many beaches within short driving distance and wonderful hikes nearby as well. The black sands beach is walking distance from the property, but you need a reservation to visit, even if you plan to walk there. So book that in advance of your trip. Also, Hana only has a general store and no major grocery chains so we would recommend stopping in the city for any essentials before making the trip to Hana.
Would recommend a hundred times over and if we are lucky enough to get to visit Maui again we will definitely be back here.
Clean property, spacious with patio and beautiful garden; easy walking distance to black sand beach; we had family fun cooking and appreciated French press coffee and fresh fruits; after hard days hiking and exploring it was great to come to a home with hot showers; definitely recommend it
Conveniently located juste a few minutes from Hana, clean and stocked with all the necessities. Comfy beds. Happy teens with the best wifi on Hawai’i yet. Everything was absolutely perfect.

Awesome place!
What a wonderful slice of heaven. We thoroughly enjoyed staying in this place near Hana. Accommodations were superb - well stocked with all we needed to make us feel at home. The grounds are beautiful - thank you for the yummy fruit! Highly recommend.
A nice house tucked away amid the jungle with a big yard and lots of fruit trees. Even though it's close to the highway, it's quiet most of the time. This was our 2nd visit to this property.
We had a great time staying on this side of the island. The house was very nice and clean. The property is beautiful. It was nice having the little fruit stand at the road to purchase fresh fruits. overall I recommend staying here for at least 1 night so you can explore the area better.
We really enjoyed at the property had several different fruit trees on property and the owner allows you to pick the right ones and use. We had fresh lemonade, orange juice, and even some Coca-Cola while we’re there. They even had coffee beans available that we used to grind up for our morning coffee. Everything everything‘s so fresh was really interesting. Compared to other states we have done. Location was excellent being so close to the state park and the national park just passed Hana. It made easier access to the trails and waterfalls of the national park passed Hannah. It saved a lot on driving time to allow us to fully engulf in the Hāna experience. The new outdoor shower that was recently added was amazing, it even had hot water out there as well.
