"Located in a quaint spot just off Kyoto station, 8-15 mins walk depending on how fast you walk, you get to be in a quiet space. Room is clean, equipped with a collapsible pantry, microwave too! Best part is that the toilet’s equipped with an overhead heater, its a very nice touch. Warm and fuzzy after a hot bath. "

"Quaint, traditional guest house with a very kind host. Room was clean and futon mats were clean and comfortable. Our room had interior facing windows to a lovely garden to let the fresh air in. Made for a great authentic experience in Kyoto. Make sure you arrive within the check in hours; it is a family run establishment so they don’t have someone up 24/7."

"Tired building with paper walls, clean, friendly staff, NOT recommended if you are intending to sleep. If you need to sleep, bring professional earplugs, normal ones won't work. You will hear absolutely everything going on in the rooms beside you. I had a horrible night. "

"初めて部屋に入った時は、とても広く設備が揃っていて好印象でした。 しかし、清掃が細部までされておらず、正直不快でした。特に酷かったのがお風呂で、敷いてあった簀子の下の床の清掃が全くされておらず、気持ち悪かったです。湯船のお湯を抜くと、排水が詰まって床に溜まり、挙げ句の果てには洗面所まで浸水して散々でした。 和室には敷いてあった布団の他に、タンスの中に布団が入っていましたが、くしゃくしゃに丸められていました。また、前の人のヘアゴムが置いてあったりと、とにかく不快ポイントが高かったです。笑ってしまうほど。 ものは充実している旅館だっただけに、とても残念でした。"

"Absolute class act. One of the best hotels I have stayed at, especially for the price point. Room came with a bidet and an in-suite shower. Absolute godsend for my needs and was close to a convenience store, laundromat, and other businesses. Train station was less than a 5 minute walk. Amenities were perfect and covered every possible need. Safe to say this is the best hotel in Kyoto."

"Village kiramachi is strategically located. It is a beautifully preserved ryokan with modern amenities. My family specifically love the ambience and the warm hospitality which really made us feel welcomed. The Terrace villa, which we stayed in had a outdoor bath and shower facilities which was really cool. The experience and service is simply awesome. I think what can make it even better is to have a few more lights in the rooms for those that need brighter lighting. Thanks Village Kiramachi,...

"1階の「鴨」という部屋に泊まりました。大通りの車の音は全く聞こえず、落ち着いて滞在できました。部屋の設備はシンプルながら高級感があり、中でも檜風呂は贅沢な気分になれました。 子連れで外食するには不便な立地だと感じました。部屋にミニキッチンがあり、食器やお茶類も揃っているので、おばんざいを買ってきて部屋で食べるのも良いと思います。"

"Wonderful rooms extremely spacious compared to usual Japanese hotels but very reasonable price. There's no cleaning at all but we really didn't mind that. We'd rather have a large inexpensive room than a small room with cleaning. 5min. walk to a convenience store. Train stations are within 10min. radius. Loved it."
