4/5 stars. A good cottage within reasonable driving distance of Acadia and Bar Harbor. We’re giving it 4 stars mainly because the decor felt haphazard and dated (not so much an intentional, cute vintage look as an unintentional dated look), and the price felt a little steep given that. Here are some specific pros/cons:What we liked:• Reasonably close to Bar Harbor/Acadia• Quiet, peaceful neighborhood along a country road• Deer (including fawns!) in the backyard almost every day• Kitchen well-stocked with utensils and pans (though spices/oils/vinegars were sparse and some were past expiry)• Comfortable bed with a newer mattressWhat could be better:• Uncomfortable couch (more like a cushioned bench than something to relax on)• Decor and paint felt haphazard and dated—more systematic attention could make this a cute vintage cottage• A few minor repair/cleaning issues (mud tracked in, a taped-up broken door handle, cobsebs in some corners...)• No AC, although this wasn’t really an issue, since the temperature dipped to around 55ºF at night even in AugustFor us, we would probably look for something more our style next time. That said, it was overall a good cottage in a good location, and if you like more of a vintage feel, you would probably be very comfortable here.
