The lodge was further out of town than we expected and on an unsealed road. Luckily we didn't meet anyone on the last stretch up to the lodge as it would have been a challenge to back down the driveway. Online it said that reception would be open when we arrived, but there was no-one around other than the bar staff (who were very helpful and allowed us to have breakfast earlier than advertised the next day as we needed an early departure). We didn't see any other staff and only a handful of guests so it was very quiet. Our room was very large with a nice outlook and a balcony. The bathroom was one of the largest I have ever encountered, with a double shower and double spa bath. The complimentary biscuits in the room, along with the tea/coffee/hot chocolate supplies were a nice touch.

We had a really good stay overall. There was an issue with our room when we first arrived, however the staff were absolutely excellent in handling it. They were quick to respond, very understanding, and moved us to another room without any hassle. Their professionalism and friendly attitude really made a difference and turned the situation around for us. We really appreciated the great customer service and would happily stay again.

Breakfast was okay. For the hotel rating the breakfast on offer was very basic. This is a 3 star plus accommodation in my opinion. The staff are excellent and cannot fault. Only instant coffee on offer in the room, no plunger coffee available even on request. The bed and shower were both good, but pillows were the basic chopped up foam type. Managed to obtain only one feather pillow on request which my wife used. The room is spacious and warm. Water in the outside spa was very low and needed topping up which I bought to their attention. The lift was not working so this necessitated the use of the stairs only as we had a downstairs room. The property is quite isolated so you have to drive approx 11km into town for a meal should you wish for a change other than dining in the restaurant, which we did on the last night. The food was good, but certainly at the higher end of the prices compared to in the town.

Large, high ceilinged, fabulous rooms with both outdoor and indoor spas. Large bathroom with lovely showers. There is a fireplace in the room, which a staff member immediately started for us. We had an outdoor spa in the cool (6 degrees) weather with a view of snow on the hills. Magic. Breakfast was standard tasty cold and hot dishes. Beautiful coffee. The extra large bed was magnificent and the location absolutely silent. We will go again.

We really enjoyed our stay. The room was amazing. The views were fantastic. Everything about the place just shone. Then we were surprised with this amazing breakfast. Totally a 5 Star Place. I would stay there again and again. If I have any criticism at all is the road is gravel to get to the driveway and the driveway signs are not clearly marked. They’re very rustic, considering how the rest of the hotel is it was surprising. However, that should not deter anyone that hotel was fantastic!

The restaurant food was not as advertised. If you have a hotel that is so far from town then you must have top quality food in your restaurant. I ordered falafel sliders and received a big burger bun with mush in the centre and greasy chips. The bartender was great and very accommodating, he makes a delicious Old Fashion. The rooms and the hotel were very warm and the restaurant was hot! Get your air conditioning sorted if you’re asking guests to keep doors and windows closed. Turn off the gas in the fireplaces, it’s February.

Hele ruime kamer met airco, gashaard, bed van zeker 200x200 en bubbelbad in badkamer en op terras. Omdat bezetting erg laag was die dag, was het restaurant gesloten. Dated decor and lackluster maintenance. Eoom with spa had cobwebs in corner, 2 leaks on ceiling which need attention. Attention to detail needed for its star rating and price point. Bed skirts too short, skirting boards blown out from water damage. Instant coffee only and recption closed at 5:30pm. So if you needed anything, you had to contact via cellphone, leave a voicemail or see some in the bar/restaurant. Or. If you need a top up of towels, coffee etc, conveniently placed HK trolleys parked up along the corridor to assist you with your needs. Please, no flowers are better than fake flowers inside the hotel. Consider your surroundings as an environmentally friendly source for your displays, which is inline with your ethos. It was a peaceful stay thank you, just the facility is dated and needs more attention to detail.
