Great location and cost atmosphere. Right in the middle of the city center. Really nice gym and sauna. Stayed for one night traveling through Germany. It was the second time we stayed there and both times has been the best start of our vacation.

Very spiffy property overall. Room was large for historical building. In room coffee was a plus, Keurig style machine and tea kettle. Refrigerator. Bed comfortably firm, four large pillows. Breakfast very nice, complete offerings. Location on market square is ideal. A/C not adequate for our south facing room in June even though outside temps were below 70F.

The room in the new part of the property was nice and clean, however, we found a very dusty old full size hair products behind the cupboard where things seem to roll and fall behind to due to structural unevenness. The spa was spotlessly clean and really well kept with friendly staff. The breakfast was good but I didn't feel welcomed, my breakfast wasn't included and I was followed and watched like a criminal, even though I gave my room number and name to the host. The option of signing the breakfast charge to the room was apparently not possible. I paid for bfast at the reception only to be asked to pay for it again two days later during checkout! The name on the TV screen was of another guest and it was not changed at all during pur stay lol..Overall, it's a nice hotel but some minor improvements are needed, especially with customer service.

Super nice hotel in the middle of everything

An excellent hotel in the middle of everything! Very nice and comfortable rooms with great furniture for enjoying travel companions in the room. (In case you don’t want to, or have the energy to get out in the evening) We have nothing but good to say about this hotel.

Lovely to look at, great breakfast, quiet and very comfortable room. Lacking a kettle, plug for sink and milk, despite having a little fridge. Annoying that reception sent me to line up at the kitchen to get milk forbtea when requested.

Loved almost everything about it!

Loved the hotel. It was perfectly located in the old place in the market square. The room was beautiful and our room had a view of the square, which with windows open was a bit noisy, but so worth it! The breakfast was amazing, chose the homemade orange juice, it was remarkable! The swimming pool was nice and the infrared sauna was worth a visit, also loved the ice shower. The changing room was more like an ulockable bathroom. We will definitely stay here again if ever in Hildesheim!

Not plesant dinner

Vi ´have visited Van der Valk in Hildesheim more times, and this time all was ok, exept our experience in the resturant. We order a before dinner drink, and a 3 course menu, a bottle of wine and a bottle of water. Afetr app. 20 min we aske for the drink, and got the wine, together with the starter menu, and no before dinner drink. We got it after we asked again for it - the water we got during the main course, again after we aske for it. The desert we never got - ok it was not on the bill - but all in all a not plessant dinner. The food was really ok, that the only positiver in that. And the service people was not in a hurry, our had time to averything else than help us.
