I recently stayed here for 3 nights - the family who own the hotel are so lovely. The hotel itself is down a quiet but safe alleyway, within walking distance of everything in the Old Quarter but far enough away from the busy streets to get a peaceful night’s sleep.
Although the room I stayed in (the cheapest) was super small, it was fine for me being on my own. If you’re booking for two people, I’d go for one of the larger rooms. The bed was one of the comfiest I’ve ever stayed in and so large too. The room has both air con and fan to help keep the room cool in the hot Singapore weather.
The bathroom was very small and smelt a little of drains. I think this is sometimes unavoidable in Hanoi. Because of the size of the room, there’s no separate shower cubicle so it’s more of a wet room. The larger rooms will probably have bigger bathrooms.
One of the best things about this hotel is the varied breakfast selection. You will not leave breakfast hungry :-)
Overall I had a great stay at Tung Trang and although the room was small, it was very, very affordable for the location.
