"Our overnight stay at The Portland guest house went very well. We managed to park close by and the check-in process was very speedy. Unfortunately, though, I hadn't taken into consideration that, being a town house, there would be a lot of stairs with an open balustrade which was an issue for my partner who suffers from a form of vertigo but, after explaining the situation to Rachel, Sian dealt with it quickly by putting us in a room on a lower floor. "I loved this place to stay. It is in a truly beautiful location and is a gorgeous old building. The rooms are charming and i would say the food is outstanding. I would definitely stay here again. "We had a lovely stay for a long weekend for our big wedding anniversary. Very comfortable room and lovely breakfast every day. Only 13amp charger for the EV but that was absolutely no problem as there are plenty of public chargers available round and about and we just used one of those whilst we were out for an evening meal on our first night Fresh milk and bottled water available for ‘proper’ coffee in brew bags and wide selection of teas which was nice and so much better than long life...

" basic but very comfortable accommodation 10 minutes walk from the nearest pub.The room was a decent size the bed was comfortable there was plenty of storage. The bathroom and shower were good with plenty of toiletries. there is plenty of parking room. I would take a torch if walking to local pubs and restaurants as the road has no pavement for about 100 metres and is quite dark but the road is quiet on a night"

"I was disappointed that, although there seemed to be very few guests staying, we didn't have a sea view. Instead we had a view of the back of the driving range. Although the room was overall very clean, the dark carpet had obvious bleach spills and stains all over, and new carpets were definitely needed.
