"Fantastic location to stay over"

"What a find in a beautiful area. Short trip off the A1 and absolutely stunning pub with rooms. Rooms were great, comfortable clean and has everything you will need for a good stay. Dinner was really tasty. Didn’t stop for breakfast but can only imagine how nice it would be. Would definitely recommend and would stay next time I am in the area "

"Spacious room and bathroom (located in converted stables behind the pub) with TV and plentiful tea/coffee supplies. Wifi connection a bit limited in the room, but excellent in the pub itself. Friendly staff."

"A beautiful building and the rooms were well furnished. However no food or hot drinks available. Hardly any personnel around Room not serviced and we used codes to get in and out. Not a place we would use again. "

"Really great place to stay. We stayed in room located in what we think was the original stable yard. The room was immaculate and perfectly Set out. The bar/ restaurant was a great place to hang out with friendly staff and great food. Overall we had a great experience and would definitely recommend it if you’re looking for a small slice of beautiful Yorkshire on your travels. "

"Great location in centre of York, walking distance to shops, bars, restaurants and the Barbican centre. Room itself was dated, no central heating, just two small stand-alone heaters (which did heat the room) and small bathroom with shower. Tea and coffee facilities were a nice touch. "
