"Room was clean but strong smell of bleach Only met front desk person and she was very nice. Full breakfast is served. Parking on site is tight and does not accommodate all rooms first come first served."

"It is a very old place built in the early 60s the walls are paper thin the showers are tiny the shower head is 7 ft High nobody can reach it you can barely fit in the shower to take a shower the continental breakfast is a joke the beds are very uncomfortable the pillows are basically flat as a pancake it needs a major overhaul"

"Rooms are very clean, no circulation so leave windows open. Fireplace was for ambiance only. Heat control was great! Water pressure in shower was AMAZING. Breakfast was sub par but good enough to sample to get you by if you are not boujee. Coffee on Thursday was amazing. Friday is was weak. I would definitely stay here again, rooms are good size"

"Parking was convenient- room was clean - staff was friendly. Was extremely disappointed upon check in - reserved a cottage for two and was told upon check in they had no availability. We needed up staying in a “hotel” room - again- not what was advertised. "

"I will absolutely return to Hotel Carmel which oozes hospitality from the moment you arrive, in its guest rooms (opt for a fireplace!) the healthy breakfast each morning and the quick walk to shopping and restaurant- its role in my impression of Carmel-by-the-Sea was co siderable"

"small but comfortable room and bed. wine theme was cute. reasonable price for an expensive area. it was clean and quiet. parking was a bit tricky but it worked. we arrived late and only stayed one night so didn't really get to see or use any of their amenities, but the room served its purpose and we would stay here if we're ever in the area again. (a complimentary bottle of cheap local wine would have been a nice touch)"
