"As soon as we walked into the hotel, we could tell it was the perfect hotel. Funky and cool decorating. Delicious food and drinks. Extremely friendly and helpful service (Juliette and all the staff). The hotel room was comfortable with excellent ac and a super cool bathroom set up. The hotel is also safe and secure. We got back late at night and it was gated up but a security guard quickly came to let us in. They gave us an excellent dinner recommendation which after a long day of exploring was perfect. Also the location is so close to the action. We highly recommend this hotel! "

"The hotel is about 10 minutes by taxi out of the old Havana area, it felt safe and welcoming the minute you arrived. Yanetxy and Rosebel were most helpful and accommodating at this beautiful boutique hotel. We were given suggestions were to eat and how to stay safe while touring around Havana. They were instrumental in arranging our vintage car tour of Havana which was incredible! There is a roof top bar and a restaurant that serves amazing food. Definitely will stay here again when we come back to Cuba!"

"Magnificent choice: the Alhabana hotel, our flight arrived at 1 am and we arrived at the hotel at approximately 3 am, at that time they received us very attentively, they also assisted us with the transfer from the airport. very cozy atmosphere, areas with spectacular cleanliness, attentive reception staff willing to assist us with everything, very good amenities, abundant and very good quality breakfast. "We absolutely loved our stay here at this beautiful historic converted home. From our arrival through to our departure and everything in between we received nothing short of the most amazing warm Cuban hospitality offered in Old Havana . Richard and his team bent over backwards to make our stay comfortable and memorable at Hostal Balcones. Mariana the manager is an absolute angel who made sure each day for us was easily planned organising bookings and transport along the way. The rest of the beautiful Balcones staff also made us so very much at home that we almost felt like family. It’s a thoughtfully restored historical home that has been filled with eclectic collections of antiques and curiosities and you really feel you are stepping back in time with so much to admire and enjoy. With a very generous breakfast included daily cooked by the lovely Louisandra the chef, to laughs and salsa dancing with our room maid Jordania followed by our vote of the best Mojito in Havana in a tea pot made by Mariana the mixologist manager our stay couldn’t have been more perfect. Do yourself a favour and get a taste of Cuban life in the centre of old Havana by booking your stay at this gem."

"This wasn't a hotel, this felt like home. The staff are amazing. Jorge treated me well. Adrian was the night shift, he and I chatted all night. Vanessa was there during the day. The food is incredible. My room was cleaned every day. They arranged for me to sight see and take tours. My phone was stolen at the beach in Varadero (2 hours away). Vanessa offered to have me use her phone to call my family. She organized a taxi for me to get a phone and SIM card while I was there. The next day was my birthday and I was a little sad because I lost my phone. They made cake and sang for me on my birthday. They made sure I felt at home. The place was quite. The first floor is the lobby and eating area. The 4th floor is the roof top where you have breath-taking views. The hotel is in walking distance of Malecon. I was walking there at 10PM and at 5AM. I felt completely safe! Sit and talk with the staff about the background and culture. It's a free experience and you will learn a lot! I am planning to return to Cuba and will stay here again. This was an amazing experience because of the hotel staff. "

"Great place to stay. Simple and comfortable. Right near the heart of Old Havana, just about an 8-minute walk to Plaza Vieja. And the proprietor was so very helpful and friendly about advice on the city and making arrangements for cabs and tours and other needs of a traveler. Wonderful breakfast was included, many fruits, coffee, eggs, good bread. Room was simple and nice, with a very effective air-conditioner and shower, which helped quite a bit in dealing with the city's heat. Thanks to Juno for all the help. Great bargain and very nice place to stay."
