This place was so nice! We got upgraded to lakeside room with no extra charge. The weather was not cooperative for lakeside sitting.. but we plan to come back when it is nicer weather!

We like unique hotels and this is a fun one. Older room and bathroom but so clean and well maintained! Friendly owner/staff. River view common area. Not a modern, cold, chemically treated hotel. A charming “blast from the past” that we genuinely enjoyed.

If for some reason you need to stay in Hayward, Wisconsin, stay here. Don't go to the Super 8, the Motel 6, none of that crap. Stay at the local joint, owned by a local. Clean place to stay, and quiet enough. Owner loves fishing, especially Muskellunge fishing. He told us he would take us out fishing the next day, but then cancelled on us. Don't let that deter you from booking a night at the motel, however. It's a pretty good establishment.
