Knowle Lodge is nestled on the southern slopes of the Weald, close to Haywards Heath, on the edge of one of the prettiest villages in Sussex, Cuckfield, which dates back to the 13th century and lies between the beautiful South Downs and Ashdown Forest. It was here that the first known fossil of the dinosaur Iguanodon was discovered and the interesting museum, which is located in Queen’s Hall, can give further information. Go wine tasting and experience the world-class wines that Sussex produces at Ridgeview Estate, Bluebell Vineyard and Wiston Estate. Step back in time with a trip on the Bluebell steam railway, take a picnic and enjoy the opera at Glyndebourne, visit an antiques fair at Ardingly, or try your luck with the horses at Hickstead. After a busy day, Ockenden Manor Spa is a beautiful Elizabethan manor house where you can enjoy a relaxing evening. Gatwick airport is just 20-minutes’ drive away and there are good train connections to London from Haywards Heath, 3 miles away. Beach 14 miles. Shop 400 yards, pub and restaurant 200 yards.
