Down a quiet lane lined with towering redwood trees lies the Redwood River Retreat, a pet friendly Wine Country getaway that is just steps from the Russian river, yet only two miles from the historic, upscale and charming downtown Healdsburg.
The Redwood Retreat is an inviting and comfortable pet friendly home that accommodates up to six guests. Whether you're heading to the river with a group of friends or planning a family vacation, you'll be very comfortable in its tastefully decorated rooms.

The vaulted ceiling and glass doors let plenty of light into the open living room, featuring a new large screen television and high speed internet. The fully equipped kitchen and dining area adjoin the living room to create a wonderfully bright and open space for entertaining. Glass doors lead from the kitchen onto the patio featuring a new gas BBQ and dining furniture that makes entertaining easy. Unwind after a day of wine tasting and sightseeing with a relaxing soak in the hot tub. Just steps from the house you will find a stairway leading you right to the river's edge, where you can enjoy swimming, canoeing and kayaking.

The main floor features a bedroom with a queen bed and a full bathroom with an antique claw foot bathtub for your relaxation. Upstairs are two small guest bedrooms that share a half bath and are separated by a small desk area. The first bedroom has a comfortable queen size bed and the second bedroom features a futon that makes into a double size bed. This immaculately maintained home provides plenty of quality linens and a laundry room with washer and dryer.

This fabulous river home with hot tub, beach access and other wonderful amenities is the perfect place for your family or group of friends. It's prime location on the Russian river just five minutes from the downtown Healdsburg Plaza allows easy access to all the activities and attractions wine country has to offer. The beautiful scenery and lovely weather make bicycling and hiking popular activities in the area. Great place for a get away
The size and space of this home was exactly what we needed. Sister weekend full of adventure. The kitchen and deck were crucial. We enjoyed coffee on the porch. We played and adventured all day and came back to cook dinner and relax on the back deck. We even indulged in the wild blackberries. Unfortunately, we did not get to try out the hot tub, because it was soooo hot the weekend we stayed. The host was incredibly responsive of needs. This was straightforward and easy to access. I would recommend for 2 couples, a family, or a small group of friends.

Wonderful stay on the Russian River.
This property was perfect for our family of 4. Easy access to what felt like our own private river bar. Peaceful backyard. And easy access to all that Healdsburg has to offer. Everything in the house worked great and the house was very comfortable for us to rest between activities.

Very nice place for a family fathering
The house was a very good choice for our family gathering. Part of the family stayed at our bigger house across the street. The house is pretty and very comfortable. Furniture was attractive and all supplies were nice and plentiful. We had one problem though; the toilet located on the first was leaking and we didn’t use it. It is likely caused by a broken wax seal that needs to be replaced. Thanks.

Lovelies secret neighborhood
Lovely clean house. It looks like it has been updated in recent years. It is much nicer looking than the photographs. It has a hot tub outside and lots of seating. It is also just a quick walk to a secret beach. So much of the river gets crowded during the summer, this is a nice secluded beach.

Revisiting my Childhood
Thus property met the mark! It is cozy and had everything we needed for a 3 night stay! My sister and I wanted to stay at a location near to where we had lived for a time in our childhood. We are now in our 60s. This property was excellent in location and amenities offered. We also were able to bring our dogs which have become our babies after our children became adults. Thank you for the home away from home!

Super cute, functional and great location.
The house is lovely. Location is fantastic, across the street from the river! Surrounded by towering redwoods give you a feeling of peace as you sit in the hot tub listening to the birds. The house was well appointed and decor was lovely and functional. The beds were ok comfortable, but we have old bodies. Overall the house was clean, the cleaning crew just left some used dried out washcloths around and the food in the fridge from the prior occupants, but nothing was spoiled. It's a wonderful location and a perfect spot to enjoy.

Nice place - zero communication from host
The house is nice and mostly in good shape. Favorite part about it was the back patio. We enjoyed our evenings and mornings out there. Tub is odd, to say the least. You can make it work, but it's not the best for old people. My folks are around 70, and getting in and out of it is very hard. You'd have to see it to believe it. You're about 10 minutes from the Healdsburg Square, down a very windy road, so keep that in mind if doing wine tours. The only AC is a rolling unit in the living room. Neither bedroom has AC. It was over 90 degrees upstairs even with the windows open and it really didn't become sleepable until after 10pm. My biggest issue with this property is that the host was completely unresponsive with an issue we had regarding the wifi. Working remotely, I'd never ever book a place without wifi, and we had issues. Reached out via the VRBO app, and we also texted. Radio silence on the part of the host. What if it was something else? Still radio silence? Who knows. Wouldn't book again based solely on the fact that I can't be guaranteed I'd have an issue resolved while I was staying, but if you're in a pinch, it may work for you.

Beautiful and relaxing!
The location is a bit more remote than we thought it would be, but worth the drive. It is spectacular, sitting in the hot tub under the redwoods - epic. We would stay again in a heartbeat. The stairs to the second level bedroom are a bit steep and is felt more coming down the steps so hold on. The rooms are spacious. We planned our meals at home each night and had all the equipment to cook with. Maybe some spices (cinnamon, garlic salt-the basics..etc) would be nice, however, there was some flour and sugar which was really nice. There is a pressure cooker, but a crock pot would be nice too. That's the worst I can think - it's beautiful and we look forward to going back and the price point is perfect for what you get.

Cute place, bad location
The property was cute and clean, but the location was not great. The neighbors have trailers and trash piled up next to the house. There were dogs offleash from neighbors so we could not even walk our dog outside with a leash. The river access wasn’t great. We stayed in the cabin with most of the time or went into Healdsburg. We left a day early .

Wonderful stay just outside of town
The house was exactly as listed and worked perfectly for our stay. We loved using the hot tub on cool December evenings. The location is very cool, slightly in the mountains, and a very short drive into town. Definitely take (a very short) walk to the river and along the river bed. It''s so pretty! Overall, it was an ideal place to stay!

We really did enjoy staying at this property nestled in towering Redwood trees next to the Russian River. We loved walking our dog along the river, and he had a ball playing in the water. The house is cozy, comfortable, and has the best appointed kitchen I have seen in a vacation rental.

Great little house very close to DT Healdsburg
Overall, this was an excellent property for our trip. Hot tub was wonderful on the cool Fall mornings and evenings. House would benefit from some slightly nicer wine glasses for a property located in wine country, but we certainly survived. Had everything we really needed and for the price point, we'd certainly recommend it and stay here again. Don't forget to check out the river, we saw a few families of otters in the morning!

Peaceful Stay
Quaint cabin nestled close to the Russian River. Everything (but the wine) was available for us. The hot tub was pleasant on the cool evenings after a long day at the wineries. My only issue was it was difficult with Uber/Lyft drivers coming and going out the mountain, even though it was just 2 miles. Just a little more wait time, so be patient if you are using those services.

Perfect River Home
My family and I had a great time at this house. It was very clean, comfortable, and cute. The location is a hop, skip and a jump from the Russian River and when it wasn't warm enough to swim, we were happy to hop in the hot tub. The kitchen was really well stocked and had a lot of gadgets and dinnerware that's usually missing in a rental. We really appreciated it. Overall, we'll totally come back to this property and highly recommend it to others.

Great Place and location - loved it
The house was great and though the temperature was very hot during the day there were ample fans and even an air conditioner in the living room. Easy access to the river which had plenty of water and even some deep pools where you couldn't even touch the bottom. The front and rear decks were very nice and the hot tub was great. We'd stayed in a house across the street on the river once but this was a much nicer place and we would definitely rent it again and will most likely do so. Fenced back yard was great for the dogs

Great Get Away
My family had a wonderful time. The river was a short walk across the street where we spent a lot of time. Downtown Healdsburg was a short car ride. The house was clean, beds comfortable and the kitchen was perfect for cooking. There was everything we needed. The one thing that was a problem was the hot tub. There was so much chlorine in it that it changed my suit from black to brown. So we did not use the tub.

This house was in a great scenic location just a 10 minute drive from town! It was in a nice secluded area less than a 2 minute walk from the river. The house was very cute and had a very nice patio area to relax on.
