Lakefront home with easy access to Norfork Lake

Luxurious accommodation offers convenience and privacy on 4 beautifully landscaped acres surrounded by pristine natural Ozark surroundings with great view of Norfork Lake. Approximately 2,400 sq. ft. of living space includes elegant living room and dining room, full kitchen and breakfast room and 'sunroom'. All windows have beautiful lake view. There are plenty of places to relax and unwind. A large covered rear deck runs full length of house. I live on a separate lower level residence available to assist or you can enjoy complete privacy. Popular area recreational attractions include swimming, boating, hiking and fishing. Vacationers can rent wave runners, pontoon or fishing boats on the lake. Conveniently located near Mountain Home, Arkansas which offers easy shopping and many restaurants. The owner lives on site on a separate lower level and is available to assist when needed.

Fishing trip

Fishing wasn’t too good where we were but the entire Norfolk Lake area was beautiful. Robert, our host, was the nicest guy who saw that we had complete privacy. Even saw some deer in the back yard

Waterview haven

Although the furniture was dated the property was amazing!!! From thr sun room to the master and balcony, it was beautiful and peaceful. The view was great and the deer were a pleasant surprise. Cant wait to stay again!!!

Peaceful/easy access.

Beautiful view and quiet neighborhood. Very close to grocery store and Buffalo river and easy access to the lake. Love the spaciousness of the place. The owner is very friendly and personalble. He lives on the lower level but we hardly ever saw him. I inquired ahead of time about a few things and he was able to get me some information. The place was clean, but could probably use a deep clean where all decor on the walls is wiped down and curtains cleaned. The king mattress was really soft and could do with a new mattress and new sheets. Didn't use the 2nd bedroom so no comment on that room. For the price we would probably stay here again. It just needs a few changes especially in the area of bedding.

The ad is a little misleading. It states that the host lives on the property. The host actually lives in the basement of the rental house. Had I know that we would have not rented that property. The home was exactly like the VIRBO showed. However things were very low to the floor . The couch,the bed in the first room,the toliet in the main hallway. The refrigerator was very dirty i had to clean it before we could use it. The house is o.k could use updated. The bedspread in first bedroom was ripped. The host walked us through the house. Never were we shown where extra toliet paper,or paper towels were located. We went out and bought our own (very aggravating) only to find them in the laundry room on our last night. Lack of communication!! I would not stay at this property again only because of the host living in the basement! Yes there were times we could hear the TV in the basement. On the up side the view of the lake was beautiful!! The neighborhood was quiet. The property was minutes from restaurants, public swimming,Wal-Mart, Dollar General, shopping. The host seemed nice just not into someone living there while my family is paying alot of money for vacation and renting the property.

Beautiful home!

My two sons, ages 9 and 15, and I spent 5 days here and we loved it! The house is GORGEOUS and the lake view is amazing, especially at sunset! The property owner, who lives below the rental, was polite and very helpful. I also loved the location as it was private but only a short drive to the various marinas and beaches and about an hour to Flippin, Yellville and the ghost town of Rush. We are already planning to stay again next summer!

Beautiful and very clean. Pillows on bed are awful - very uncomfortable. Could not get either of the fans to come on. Refrigerator makes a really loud noise.

Amazing Views

The property was exactly what we needed. Close to Mountain Home where family lives and restaurants are. The views of the lake are unbelievable and it is an easy walk down to the shore. The house had great internet and TV package. Needs a little updating but I would definitely stay again!!

Has What You Need

This place has all you need. It is a bit out-dated, which didn’t surprise me due to other reviews and it didn’t bother me. The cleanliness of the house was not quite what I was expecting. There was dust on fans, cabinets, and furniture throughout the house. The fridge and cabinets in the kitchen were dirty. We ended up cleaning the cabinets and stove while we were there. The beds were not very comfortable and a bit springy. The house is big and has a lot of space. Owner is downstairs which didn’t bother us. Had what we needed for our stay, just a bit dirty.

Lock box on the thermostat!

The house is straight out of 1980 which wasn't bad really, kind of nostalgic. Beds are absolutely worn out, we slept in a bowl on top of each other but this was not the worst of it. I paid the owner his asking price and didn't have control of the temperature of the house because he has a covered locked clear box like you find in elementary schools over the thermostat. It was a balmy 72 when we arrived and slept with the door open to survive. This house was covered in dust and needs a good cleaning. One of the attractive points of this stay is the jetted tub in the master bed room as advertised in the VRBO listing, well it doesn't work. The view from the porch over looking the lake was the only good thing about this stay but its not enough for me to return.

Lovely Lake House

The lake house is immaculate and beautiful. It is in a way a time capsule, taking you away from the stressors of this world. We had a fire whilst the rain and thunder roared, in the morning I saw a family of 4 deer streak across the lawn that slopes to Norfolk Lake. Our host, Robert, was unobtrusive and congenial and I will gladly stay again!

Relaxing weekend

Nice sized house and beautiful view of the lake. The décor is somewhat dated but considering the price it was not a big deal to me. Enjoyed my stay very much!

Perfect!

Are you looking for the best? Look no further! We don't normally give five stars. But, this has the location, the view, a great host, everything you need plus more, in one place! Richard was welcoming and gracious. But not obtrusive like some hosts can be. He welcomed us and made sure we knew everything we needed to know about the accommodations, but left us to our privacy during the stay. The 2 bedroom, 2 bath home, plus one large sunroom, 2 dining areas (one was used to play games) and fully stocked kitchen left us not needing anything. The master bedroom, both dining/game areas, the living room and the sun room have a continuous balcony overlooking the lake. Very quiet and serene for us, we were looking for an escape from the business of life, and we found it! We are a couple, but anyone with family/kids/friends would totally love this place! There's a gas grille, we didn't use it because I tend to burn anything I grille, lol. On our trip, we took two day trips, one to Mamoth Springs, the other to Blanchard Springs Caverns, both within about 1.5 hours drive. The rest of the time we just enjoyed the relaxing experience. There's also a big washer and dryer. we didn't need them, but there if you do. We've rented a few vacation stay places through Vrbo and other outlets, this is the best by far! You won't be disappointed!

Nostalgic Home Incredible View

The house was like stepping back to late 70's early 80's. Loved the rollout windows and the sunroom we deemed "The Golden Girls" room due to the decor. I loved being able to walk downhill to the lake, as well as the incredible view. I've never stayed at a VRBO where the owner lived on site. It was awkward when Richard was waiting to give walk through upon arrival. Even more awkward when packing up after last hike to the lake and he was standing there. Knowing he was downstairs made it too awkward to wonder around the property. The location was great and my BFF since 1982 enjoyed celebrating 40 years of friendship!

Great location.

Great communication with the host. Clean, great location to lake Norfork. Plenty of parking for our two trucks and boats. We stayed here for the college BASS tourney.

Not this time

View was spectacular! The rest...well, not so much! This home could be spectacular! Everything was neat and in place and the bathrooms were decently clean. We didn't know if the sheets had been changed. Fridge - gross! We cleaned it out some, so we could put some things in there. Handprints and something sticky running down the front. I cleaned that. Everything is old and out of date and you feel as if someone is watching you. We actually cut our trip short. Not just because of this home, the weather was awful. Sorry, Richard, I hope this gives you some insight on things you could tweak so you could have lots of renters.
