"The first room we were given, had a used water bottle from the previous tenent along with hair in the sink, bed, and a dirty toilet. We informed the staff immediately and they moved us to another clean room promptly. The room had lots of nice features, but is missing the capability to allow guests to stream their own Netflix, or other digital media in their own language. I will bring my laptop with a HDMI cable next time to watch digital programs in my native language. The loction of the hotel is right across the train station which also has a taxi stand, making it great rest stop location. The parking garage is very secure and below the hotel, which can be a tight fit for larger vehicles. The breakfast was bland and I did like the self serving coffee machines. Overall, it was a good stay and will book again in the future. "

"The hosts clearly care about their guests. Their property is lovely and attention to every detail is made for their guests comfort. Our family of 4 were thrilled with the water tower as a living space. It is so unique and fun. It was very nicely decorated and comfortable with ‘little extras’ provided to leave guests want for nothing. Roger and Claus went above and beyond. Such friendly and hospitable hosts. The property is located in a very quiet suburban neighbourhood. The nearest towns are easy to access and have all you need for shopping needs. In these towns you can catch trains into Cologne. Very convenient. We highly recommend to anyone wanting a quiet, unique, and lovingly cared for accommodation, to stay at the Water Tower house. It is not an ideal place for anyone with mobility issues due to the number of stairs, but everyone else will enjoy it immensely. Thank you Roger and Claus. We’d love to come back."

"Very nice hotel for the price - right in the center of the town. Easy check in, wifi, nice room, very clean, great person at the desk with lots of suggestions, and outstanding breakfast for 12 euros per person. Only very minor issue was we had to park a ways away in a parkade because they only have a few paid spots at the hotel, but was really no problem. "

"Room had a stinging wasp nest outside which caused dozens of flying insects to enter the room in the early morning. The light near bed was full of dead wasps. They were large snd aggressive. It was really terrifying. We kept windows after first two nights but rooms was very stuffy snd uncomfortable. After first night I notified the hotel front desk and they later told me they had no sign of any insects. We complained, showed photos and they did not show any concern. I was told that the city government did not allow the hotel to exterminate the wasp nest . We were stuck for six nights. No other hotels available, no room change snd no card from hotel manager. We paid in advance. We finally just kept the windows closed tight but with no ventilation it was terribly uncomfortable but better than having dozens of stinging wasps frenzied in the room. Please save future guests this nightmare. "

"This hotel is a large standard hotel in a fabulous position to explore Monschau and the surrounding area. Car park is a huge bonus. Our room was on the 5th floor. A reasonable size, clean, quiet and comfortable. Breakfast was good. Staff were helpful and friendly. Would return if in the area."
