Ghost Canyon Getaway "Cabin" #4

A quaint one bedroom, one bath cabin with a private porch in the back. The porch is a great place to start the day, watching the deer play and enjoying the beautiful views. After a day of sightseeing, the porch also provides a wonderful private place to end the day, enjoying a drink or barbecuing a delicious meal.

The cabin sleeps up to 4. The bedroom has a queen bed and the living room has a double futon sofa. The unit has a stove and oven. There is a kitchen table, microwave, refrigerator, coffee pot, toaster, sink, private outside BBQ with a side burner and a shared outside counter-top oven and griddle. The kitchen is stocked with dishes, silverware, plates, pans and utensils for cooking if you want to cook in instead of eating out.

The unit has heat and air conditioning, free internet, and satellite TV. We provide bed linens, towels, and kitchen utensils. The rooms are cleaned when you check out and a one-time cleaning fee is charged. If you need additional towels or bed linens during your stay, just let us know.

My family and I had the best time in this cabin. It is very well kept, clean, and made us feel very comfortable. The scenery is beautiful and we loved having the door open to the back deck to feel the breeze. The host was very easy to communicate with and was very prompt in communication. The cabin was very close to Custer, Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse Memorial, etc. We will absolutely stay here again when we are in the area!

Best Black Hills Stay Yet!

Quiet, comfortable, clean, centrally located, and simply put the best place we have ever stayed while visiting the area! We used the grill, the oven, fridge/freezer, futon, yard for games, and gas fire pit on the deck! The gravel road is also very maintained!

Amazing location waking up to see the sun rise over the hills, frequent deer sights and daily horse visits. The cabin had both front and rear decks to take advantage of sunrise & sun set. The cabin was very well equipped with everything you needed to make it a perfect holiday getaway. The hosts were very responsive to questions.

We loved the quiet setting. The back porch had a large grill, rocking chairs and propane pit table all over looking meadow with view of trees, small stream (if raining), deer turkeys, horses and cattle in the distance. Perfect hosts!

Quiet, serene setting

Had a relaxing and restful stay in this cabin. The cabin had all of the amenities I needed, including a kitchen and washer/dryer. The cabin and property are well taken care of and the owners were very accommodating. One of the best VRBO experiences I have had. Highly recommend.

Great!

This was one of the best VRBO properties I’ve stayed at! The location was perfect, being out in the black hills, it was secluded with great views from the back porch and living room. The place was very clean and well put together whenever we arrived and already having the code pre check in made it smooth getting in. The proximity to Mount Rushmore and wind caves made it an ideal location. Also, being 20 mins from rapid city was perfect, in case we needed anything it was a close drive. Thank you to the owners for the amazing property and location! I will definitely be back again another year!

Piece of Heaven!

What a beautiful, relaxing place to stay. After a busy day of site seeing, it was nice to come back to peacefulness. Matt and Jen were wonderful and very accommodating. The place was spotless, had everything one needed. Nice place for kids to play and even a set up to have a campfire to cook smores, and visit with other guest if you so choose. I 100% recommend this beautiful piece of heaven to come stay and relax. Quick note, I would recommend to get any groceries a head of time, so that you don't have to run back into town. Once you get to the property, you won't want to run back into town. You will want to stay and relax. Hermosa has a grocery store with limited hours, but there is a Dollar General and a gas station that has almost everything you need.

Peaceful Getaway

We stayed three nights with our teenager. It was really the perfect setting, away from the crowds yet within 20-30 minutes of all Custer State Park landmarks so spending each day sightseeing was great then to come back to the cozy cabin. The cabin was charming, well decorated, and you can tell they care about guests' experience. Our daughter thought the futon was comfortable. We loved the back porch with rocking chairs, grill, and the table top fire feature that kept us warm when it got into the 50s at night (we brought our wool camping blankets, which I highly recommend if it gets cool at night so you can enjoy the porch at night). Inside, we had everything we needed including a washer/dryer and detergent, and an electric fireplace, coffee maker, stove and microwave. There are fans, and plenty of lighting as well. Wifi was great. We did not watch TV so I cannot comment on the satellite dish. Nearby, in the common area, you can find a firepit, basketball court, yard games, soccer balls and basketballs. Our daughter loved playing basketball, seeing the horses and donkey next door, and playing her guitar on the porch amongst the gorgeous setting. Getting around/navigating the roads was very easy. There were no problems finding the cabin, and the owner was in communication if we needed anything, which we didn't! We would stay here again in a heartbeat, and will tell our friends! Thank you for everything!

The cabin was exactly as listed. Mandy was a great host and was available the entire stay. The location was perfect and centrally located to where we wanted to visit. I would recommend to anyone who visits this area and wants peace and quiet but do a lot of sightseeing

This cabin was not cleaned prior to our arrival and we ended up cleaning it ourselves. We chose not to say anything until after our visit so as to not let it damper or weigh on our visit. When I did let the owner know, I explained the situation and requested a 1 night's stay refund. The owner was not willing to work with us and instead told us how we SHOULD have handled the situation differently. The owner's standard of clean is very subpar but still swears by her long time housekeeper. The bathroom was gross with dried pee on the toilet, and toothpaste and hair in the sink. The kitchen had some sort of sticky matter on the counter and dried coffee on the sink and you could clearly see it had not been cleaned (the dishes all had to be rewashed as well). There was dog hair and dust bunnies in the corners (but no pets are allowed...hmmm?) with gravel on the floor from outside. The outdoor patio furniture and grill were not usable until we wiped everything down. The bed sheets stunk like BO and sweat--they couldn't have been washed from the prior guests. We washed them ourselves along with the rugs in the bathroom which were filthy. If you laid your wet foot on the rug it came up dirty! Gross! There is NO WAY this cabin was cleaned prior to our arrival as she claims. Our refund request was denied. We won't ever stay here again, but if you plan on staying here, be prepared to do some cleaning before settling in. The only thing I will say is that the location is good.
