"We had high hopes for our stay at the Sonesta in Rapid City, South Dakota, but unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience overall. The only truly positive interaction was with the gentleman who checked us in—he was kind, respectful, and professional. Sadly, the rest of the staff we encountered were rude, unhelpful, and seemed completely disorganized. The website advertised both a swimming pool and a restaurant on site—neither of which existed. This felt like blatant false advertising and was a big letdown. To make matters worse, the air conditioning was out for the majority of our stay. Our room was nearly 90 degrees, and while they did provide us with a fan, they told us the AC would be fixed that night. It never was. When we politely followed up the next day, we were met with attitude and borderline hostility, as if we were wrong for even asking. On a more positive note, the rooms were clean and the breakfast was decent—but that alone didn’t make up for the many frustrations we experienced. I would not recommend this hotel unless significant changes are made in both staff training and the accuracy of the amenities listed online."

"Rooms were clean and staff was very friendly, breakfast was hot every morning and the grounds were gorgeous. We paid for the mt rushmore view and it was INCREDIBLE. The view all around was just breathtaking and so conveniently close to basically anything you could need. "
