View NW towards Strattonhill Farm
A private fishing lake This view was taken from the footpath which skirts the northwestern edge of Hevingham Park. The lake is private and surrounded by a fence to keep out trespassers.
Track past Five Berries Farm This farm track which doubles as a public footpath links Short-Thorn Road with Brick Kiln Road, further to the north. The agricultural buildings seen at right belong to Five Berries Farm.
View south across field beside footpath. See > 740569 for another view of this footpath that is concealed by the hedgerow seen here at left.
A sunny day in mid-March This view was taken in a easterly direction along the main track traversing Hevingham Park from east to west. Hevingham Park is a 225 acres mixed plantation located just south of the village of Hevingham. It consists of Scots and Corsican pine, oak, larch, poplar, alder and sycamore trees which were planted over a 20-year period, beginning in the late 1940s. There are no waymarkers but paths are well defined and the rides are arranged in a grid-like pattern. This woodland can become very wet after heavy rainfalls.
