I questioned this as nothing was stated via booking and the price stated was the final price I paid. I had emails from a 3rd party called travelnest and also getting emails from someone asking for £50. The whole booking was a mess. Eventually I spoke to the host and he kept saying its written in the description of this extra charge when I never saw it,...

"The cottage was very clean and nicely furnished with some lovely welcome treats upon arrival. It was also a lovely quiet place. The only downside, personally, was we would have preferred a small table and chairs near the foot of the stairs over bar stools at a breakfast bar. Being able to use the log burner would have been nice but with a thatched roof, we understand the dangers of that."
