We usually respond to requests within a few hours or a day by text, email or app message. Email, text or call if any immediate questions or problems don't hesitate, please.
**We will send you a confirmation email when the date you arrive is close, giving you a few details about things in the area and some side notes and guidelines about the property. Please check your inbox and junk mail, and make sure your email address is correct on the website because we send it to that email. If you do not get this email please let us know so there will not be a problem being able to check in. We know if you haven’t read it because you haven’t called us. We like to welcome guests with a few things about our listing before they arrive and would appreciate it if they read the few things we have to explain.
**Pets do not live on our property but when we do stay there, our dog comes with us. For those that have allergies it is a short haired dog (Italian greyhound), that has hardly any hair left because he is older. We always vacuum after every stay, so you should not see a lot of signs that our dog stays here when we are here.
**Please note: in winter weather (snow or ice) it may be difficult to get up our driveway, so please keep that in mind in the event that you book when it snows. The driveway will be plowed, but cars without 4 wheel drive or a lower gear may have trouble. Please try to get to the property earlier if snow is on its way.
**Watch out for poison ivy, after all, it is the woods.
**We have filtered well water which comes from the Hudson River, it is perfectly fine to drink and the best tasting water compared to most states. Better than bottled!
**There are usually some continental breakfast items on a shelf labeled for guests, as well as some items in the refrigerator. Coffee is on the left side of the refrigerator and sometimes eggs, English muffins, bread, bagels, butter, cream cheese, OJ and coffee creamer. We have a changing variety.
**Developed 3 acre lot (with road, buried electric and phone wire) for sale on the other side of the pond. Ask for details.
**There's new things happening on our property all the time. The property grounds have updated pictures but we don’t post the new construction being built. We always have improvements and changes and the inside cottage rental is the same as the pictures. We appreciate your understanding of our need to work with our contractors in between your stays.
Close to Rocking Horse Ranch and New Paltz town, as well as many stores on 9W and near to Poughkeepsie over the bridge. Many things to do along Hudson River area as well as the Walkway Over Hudson, hiking, skiing, snowboarding, horse back riding, boating, fishing, golfing, apple and pumpkin picking, farmers markets, wineries, breweries, cideries, antique stores, consignment shops, historical sites, and much more.

We really enjoyed our stay while visiting our son at Marist College for family weekend. The property was very clean and comfortable. It was very quiet and peaceful. It was also very nice that breakfast was provided for us, which is always nice. We will surely stay again on our next visit.
My friend and I enjoyed our short weekend stay in this oasis of serenity. The house is quaint, comfortable and clean. The pond, scenery outdoors was just beautiful. Smooth and pleasant interaction with host.
Exceeded expectations. The property owner met us and was patient with our late arrival and was very accommodating.

This house is definitely secluded, so if you like privacy, and we do, this is the place for you. The house is well stocked with breakfast food, and food for guests is well marked. House is spotless. Bed is comfortable. I had a long phone conversation with Lisa and she was friendly and honest about what to expect. It's a short drive to the sights in the Hudson Valley. The only caution is the gravel driveway leading to the house is long and rough.
My family had a wonderful time staying here. We enjoyed the pool and the beautiful yard. The host was so helpful in explaining the particulars of the property and making sure we had everything we needed.
Great little house, very responsive host, would love to come again
This is a very nice little house in a quiet, yet very convenient location, which was absolutely perfect for our needs. Huge thanks to Lisa for very quick responses to all our questions. We'll be glad to come again if an opportunity arises.
Nice getaway after a day of wine and spirit tasting. The cottage was very clean and outfitted as advertised. Stairs may be a challenge for older adults. Bigest complaint is the coffee pot is to small when 4 caffeine fueled adults get up at the same time. All and all a great stay,
thanks Lisa

This comfy hideaway was a quiet, relaxing getaway for the weekend. The pond & trees surrounding the apartment were beautiful. Everything we needed was there & Lisa provided clear guidance. The only negatives were the very rough road/driveway up to the property & the very close house being built adjacent to the drive. But there was no work on the house to disturb us….& we did not go up or down the drive in the dark or in the rain. We enjoyed our well-needed getaway!
This property was perfect for my brother and I. We were looking for something secluded because we needed to relax and not worry about bothering anyone or being bothered. This property is beautiful, well taken care of and offered plenty of amenities. I am truly thankful this property was available. I’m confident if you book this location you will be very happy.
The house was clean and as advertised, and we enjoyed the property. Our kids loved walking around the pond and watching the birds and wildlife that we saw. We also enjoyed the porch for morning coffee. We found plenty to explore in the area.
There is another house being built on the property, right next to the existing rental home. When that home is occupied, I could imagine that the area would then feel much less private and secluded.
Lisa’s property was great for our weekend stay and a visit to Storm King. The driveway was a little weird to spot given all the fallen leaves but once we got it, was smooth sailing. Check in was easy. Lisa’s house seems like they use it regularly so there are great kitchen options (toaster oven / toaster / 2 grills / etc). The TV was a little confusing to get working but we did eventually, although we spent almost no time watching TV. It was disappointing not to be able to use the wood burning stove but we respected Lisa’s house rules. The house was cozy and perfect for 2 couples. It is not ADA accessible, as I believe is stated in the listing. You do have to walk up 1 flight of stairs to get to the apt. The raised deck was a favorite by our group. Plenty of towels for us to use. Sheets could use an update, and keep in mind no laundry or dishwasher.
Overall great stay, we really enjoyed the property and how calm our weekend was. Lisa also let us check out late which was extremely appreciated. We were able to take a short walk around the property and think it would be great to visit in the summer too. If using to WFH, there is a great table where 2 people could work at the same time, but probably not other desk spaces (we used it for board games!). The wifi worked great the whole time but no one was working to really test the strength.
Thanks to Lisa for letting us stay in her property!
Nice house, everything listed was provided and working. Made good use of the outdoor space, inside was comfortable and mostly clean. Driveway could definitely be tough in the snow.
The property is very cozy and comfortable
The property entrance is a bit unclear and have to drive to get to places though they are located quite close by like grocery store, farms , walkway etc.
Conveniently close to tourist attractions but tucked in the woods so that you feel you are miles away. The kitchen is well-appointed, and the breakfast items are a nice touch. Good wi-fi and television options, too!
The outdoor space is the star here - I spent the entire week on the deck working outside and it was exactly what we needed. Right in the middle of nature with lots of wildlife to watch. If you are looking for a private remote place in nature, this is it!
I stayed at this property for a few days it was as described but difficult to find. It’s up a hidden road once found it is in a location in town-private but close to lots of things to do in Poughkeepsie and New Paltz. Lots of rules for this property though!
Overall the property was very nice and gave us exactly what we were looking for. We did not utilize the pool but it looked like it would be enjoyable. Sitting out on the deck have a morning coffee or just eating a meal is really and enjoying the view overlooking the pond is the piece de resistance of the property
Lisa and family have a wonder, if not eclectic, vacation home nestled in some lovely woods. There is a great patio and balcony that overlook the forest and a pond on the property. Lots of great hiking and a few cute little towns nearby. Fantastic stay, would definitely return.
This place was just perfect for a long weekend stay. The apartment was clean and comfortable. There is a flight of stairs to enter the apartment and a long unpaved road to reach the property. The road was a little difficult to maneuver with a low car but we did it. The property is secluded, quiet and cozy. We enjoyed out stay!
