Carole is very organized and is a pleasure to work with. We enjoyed the roominess and cleanliness of this cottage. Beautifully decorated with a kitchen that is extremely well equipped. Lastly, we loved the location with it being less than a mile from Highlands.
Perfect home for family. We arrived to a clean welcoming home that accommodated 7 of us comfortably. Nothing was lacking in the kitchen for our Thanksgiving dinner. When we next plan a trip to Highlands we hope to stay here.

Layout of the house is perfect for several families.
The house needs a good cleaning, clothes in dryer was still damp and smelled of mildew.

an honest review
Pros:
-- fantastic location close to town and the grocery store
-- good layout of the house
-- newer appliances in the kitchen
Cons:
-- the house was extremely dirty:
-drawers in the bedrooms were either filled with personal effects or so dirty that you wouldn't want to put your things in them.
-bedding had to be washed by us when we arrived. pillows were smelly and old.
-dust everywhere. including on candles/ tchotchkes which were all over the house, patio, everywhere.
-the guest bedroom on the main level had a half eaten can of cat food under the bed along with a bowl of crusted over cat food.
-- one of the smaller bedrooms (where my children slept) had a metal sculpture over the bed (which was barely secured) that fell and broke a lamp on the nightstand. luckily, my children were not hurt and we didn't have to the go the emergency room. thus, property is not family friendly.
-- downstairs, you can hear ever little noise from upstairs- even the movement of chairs
-- check out is at 11am, and the cleaners were there at 10:50am taking towels out of the bathroom so we couldn't finish up in the bathroom. yes, we checked out about 30 mins late and the owner had a fit.
in sum, would not return and would not recommend to anyone.
We totally enjoyed staying here. The house was equipped with every feature you could possibly need. Towels and linens were great quality and softness. WiFi worked perfectly, for those who are in need. Great outside porch and deck for enjoying the fall air and watching the leaves turning. Easy to find and the owner was very easy to work with. Would definitely stay there again. No complaints.
Property could use some updating, it is a little tired (furniture, rugs, bathrooms).

Conveniently located cozy
The owner was very helpful in answering my questions and generously allowed us to check in early to get my mom settled who has a bad back. Convenient location, cozy and close to downtown highlands.

Our family loved our stay at Sa-hi cottage. The home was clean and spacious with a peaceful cozy feeling. The enclosed porch was perfect for rocking and morning coffee. Our family enjoyed the beautiful waterfalls and walking trails. We have no hesitation in recommending others to stay here.

Lovely property located very close to downtown.
The home was just as listed on VRBO. The bedrooms were very comfortable and there were plenty of towels for all visiting this weekend. The kitchen was well-equipped and although we didn't cook, we could have prepared a gourmet meal. We loved that every room had a television. The den and reading nook were very cozy and we burned a lot of wood in the fireplace. Good visit and we will stay there again. Carole (owner) was so easy to deal with and returned my texts immediately.

The cottage was warm and welcoming, tastefully decorated , and just a very short drive into town.
My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Sa-Hi cottage in Highlands. The house is very spacious. The Kitchen is beautiful and well-equipped with everything you could possibly need. The three larger bedrooms have lovely, comfy beds, comforters and pillows. We did not use the small bedroom with twin beds; but would probably be okay for small children. Bathrooms are well-equipped with lots of plush towels. My two Afghan hounds especially enjoyed the fabulous screened in porch in the early mornings and late evenings.
Everything was cleaned really well before our arrival, except for the open side porch. We could not sit on mildewed outdoor cushions and the outdoor grill was unusable.
My only real complaint would be the lack of central air. The master bedroom a.c. unit worked very well, but the kitchen unit was not adequate to cool off the rest of the house.
Bedroom 2 and 3 are downstairs, and it was quite warm and uncomfortable for those guests.
Also, upon entering , the house has a very musty odor, similar to any lake or beach cottage without central air.
Overall, it was a very good experience and we really loved the town of Highlands! Just a note of caution for travelers from the flatlands (we are from South Florida), be sure to have an all wheel drive vehicle. We had a large conversion van (no all wheel drive), and it was a harrowing experience each time we went down the mountain and up again. The roads are narrow, winding , steep and terrifying with long stretches of no railings!
Would love to visit again, if I can face the fear of the roads.
