1. The bed and shower was clean (very important for us). 2. The room and the balcony was very comfortable with enough space for my wife and myself. 3. The staff in the front desk were very nice and polite. 4. The property is right next to a supermarket and 5 min walk from the beach.

I would recommend

Refresh is a nice place with nice staff. I imagine the loud train horn through the night won’t just affect this hotel on the stretch as the track follows the coast. Certainly not the hotels fault in any case. Thumbs up

Excellent hotel

The apartment concept at the hotel was fantastic with so much space to relax, dine and sleep. The hotel restaurant across the road delighted us with first class food including lobsters and crab dining along the beach line. This was a superb experience. They organised a safari to the Yala safari park with accommodation in cabanas, transport in a luxury minibus and meals for very reasonable price. The beach is only few minutes walk across the main road and we throughly enjoyed the boat ride with a glass to see a myriad of fish. Hotel is located in a fantastic seaside location and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants a seaside break. We walked freely around 10.30-11.00 pm and safety and security were great both at night and day. We will book the Refresh Hotel again.

This property may be suitable for some, but for me it was unpleasant. The room was very very dirty, windows sills caked in dust. Shower curtain had a complete purple discolouration, covered in mould. Rotting on the walls. Huge balcony and no chairs.

The building is very run down, the pool is dirty and uninviting. We had hot water only half of our stay. Everything feels old and like it needs a good scrub. The staff are friendly, always say hello and will look into things if you raise an issue. The wifi is good. The aircon is good. The rooms are spacious. The pproximity to the beach is good, though it is about 10 minutes walking to get to the beach unless you walk through a restaurant. Compared to other Sri Lankan accommodation, we don’t feel this hotel offers good value for money.

Sol och bad i Hikkaduwa

Tåget går precis intill hotellet. Mycket starkt ljud. Rummen stora och trevliga, nytt fint badrum med stort badkar som man måste stå och duscha i, ingen separat dusch och mycket dåligt vattentryck, nästan inget vatten. Frukosten på taket i värmen inte trevlig och svårt att få dem att förstå t.ex. Vändstekt ägg. Juicen dålig kvalitet, vi åt frukost på stan de sista dagarna. Hotellet har ett trevligt kafé Lavazza med bra service och mycket gott kaffe. Längre promenad för att komma till badstrand ca 900 meter utmed strakt trafikerad gata. Livsfarligt att promenera.

Proche de la plage d'hikkaduwa .hôtel situé entre une route passante et la ligne de chemin de fer. Chambre avec balcon : ce serait un plus qu il soit meublé avec table et chaises . ( rien sur le balcon) Fourmis dans la chambre ; pas de moustiquaire Chambre spacieuse et fonctionnelle : coffre fort , sèche cheveux bouilloire Ménage fait tout les jours Piscine sur le toit mais peu agréable ; petite , eau trouble . We stayed at the Refresh Hotel for a week in August. The hotel is located just moments away from the beach, bars, shops and restaurants.The hotel room was spacious and clean and the staff were really friendly. The roof top pool is lovely.

Great place to stay in Hikkaduwa!

I was pleasantly surprised with the hotel. The room was very spacious, nice and had a huge balcony. I also had a really comfortable king bed. The location is great and walkable to both sides of town, the beach and restaurants. The pool deck was nice and beautiful views. I was here during off season so the bar, like many places in town was closed unfortunately. The staff were helpful and friendly for anything I needed. The only downside was on the end of the trip I had a lot of ants coming into the room. Otherwise I wouldn't definitely stay here again!

It is very good place. I highly recommend this place to any one. From the security, all staff was very friendly. We loved refresh restaurant food too. The portion we received was more than enough. Room service was amazing.They have provided everything. When we asked more sugar bags, they did not hesitate to provide., We enjoyed whole staying. Thank you.. :) There was a connection problem with WiFi. Regardless that everything was excellent..

Nice hotel in Hikkadua

Hotel is really nice. Our room was large and the bathroom was excellent. We stayed 6 nights at the beginning of Nov and would stay again The location is great being right in the middle of everything. The odd train passes at the rear however it’s not an issue even though our windows faced the rear.

Great hotel, great room, great location.

We had the most amazing time here. The roof terrace and pool were great, the staff were really lovely, and the room was amazing. We did have some problems with the Internet, but this was resolved by the staff later that same day. And we had some complaints of guests being noisy (drunk) at the early hours. This needs to be handled better in future, even if it is not 100% the hotels fault. Overall though, we would highly recommend it.

Comfortable stay with family

First thing that comes to mind is their amazing hospitality! Good location with fairly easy access to the beach. Calming atmosphere and a nice place to stay for the entire family, including infants! The sound of trains was a very unique and even slightly enjoyable experience. Breakfast spread was ok, starts getting a bit monotonous.

订的两间标间，结果到的时候给我们升级到了套房，两室两厅，免费用厨房，惊艳到了。唯一遗憾就是酒店的早饭不是太丰盛，酒店还有一个restaurant，我们在那里点了一条鱼，可以烧好送到酒店来，挺不错。
