Beautiful Cabin and property

The cabin was clean and had everything we needed for our stay. The hot tub was a favorite with the adults and kids. Perfect home for multi-generation family vacation. The creek in the back and the property were beautiful. Close to Hill City and all the area has to offer. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back.

Family fall break

I highly recommend this cabin in the hills! The location is so close to Sylvan Lake and the Needles Highway (a must visit for us every time) but still close enough to get back and forth to Spearfish Canyon for a hike. The cabin itself was spotless and the kitchen is stocked with any cooking pot/pan/gadget you could ever need. 10/10.

Early Spring Getaway in the Hills

A perfect location for a relaxing Black Hills vacation. It was perfect for our getaway extended weekend. It is close enough to where we wanted to go, but just far enough away to not feel like you are in in the tourist hotel and campground areas. The cabin is beautiful, comfortable and very well maintained. Randy and Bridget definitely provided the base for a relaxing get away.

Wonderful Family Vacation!

We had an excellent time at Cottage #6. It was beautiful, plenty of room for our family of 7. The location was convenient to all the attractions we wanted to see. Bridget called us on two occasions, just to check to see if everything was all right. We had so much fun we hope to come back again!

Getaway

The property is very accommodating! Everything you can possibly need is there. We did not use the hot tub or grill but they were available. Cabin was closer to a Hiway than we anticipated and a motel behind us….During busy tourist season that could present more noise. Lovely property! Easy communication with host.

Everything you could possibly need plus great location!

This home in Stone Mountain Properties was perfect for our 2 night family stay. The property is immaculate inside and out. Beds were very comfortable. Kitchen was well stocked with everything you could need (check refrigerator and cabinets before you go shopping . . . you may find some spices, oil, tinfoil, etc that you don't have to buy). We were grateful for the nice gas grill and enjoyed the hot tub in the evening. Location is perfect for exploring the Hills.

Terrific Time in the Black Hills!

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at this lovely cabin at Hill City. The cabin was exactly as described and well supplied with all we needed in the kitchen, plus movies, games, and laundry (not entertaining but so helpful!). The info binder has all the instructions, and owners were very responsive to any questions. The cabin is just off a main road with a grocery store very close by. We found it easy to navigate from there to Custer State Park, Lake Sheridan, Keystone, and much more. We definitely recommend this beautiful cabin for a Black Hills vacation!

AmundKirk Adventure

We loved this cottage as our homembase for 5 days in the black hills for our two families! We had 4 kids aged 8-13 and 4 adults and this home was a great fit for us! The creek in the back of the property provided hours of entertainment and the home was so wonderfully appointed- everything we looked for to make our meals easier was readily available! Randy and Bridget were incredibly gracious as hosts; prompt communication, clear expectations, and supremely helpful. We loved our time!

Gracious hosts even when guests break things:)

The cabin is very nice, check-in process is very efficient & easy, they have great information resources at-hand for both the cabin & locale. I am an experienced VRBO'er and Randy and Bridget have the most seamless and easy system of any property that I have stayed. One of my friends accidently broke a sliding glass door - and Bridget was very gracious and friendly even when their guests were accidently breaking things. Would definitely recommend that if anyone wants to visit the southern Black Hills, they would be hard-pressed to find a better experience than staying at this property.

Perfect place to stay for a Black Hills vacation

We were in the hills for a family reunion recently and this was the perfect cabin and location for us. There were 7 of us in the cabin and we had plenty of space to sleep, relax, eat and visit. I enjoyed coffee on the front and back porch each morning and was able to enjoy the creek running through the back of the property. My wife and I were in the downstairs bedroom so we didn’t take use the outdoor balcony upstairs but maybe next time. We had 2 cars and an ATV but there was ample space for additional cars if need be. We didn’t take advantage of the hot tub because it was the middle of summer however it is on the back porch and has a great view of the creek and hills. Randy and Bridget were great hosts. They were great at communicating with us before and after the trip, they’ve kept the cabin extremely clean, well maintained and provided everything we could have needed. We’ve stayed at other places in the past but this will now be our go to cabin anytime we’re in the Black Hills.

Great location, beautiful and cozy cabin!

We stayed here for a tour of the Black Hills. The location is great for seeing the sights in the southern hills and it's not too far to see the northern part from here either. The grocery store and restaurants in Hill City are very close which is convenient. The cabin was well appointed with everything you need for a vacation. The decor was delightful and fitting for the location and it felt spacious, yet cozy. The pillows, beds and furniture were very comfortable and clean (we stay at a lot of VRBOs and this isn't always true). We loved sitting in the hot tub at night looking at the stars after a long day touring. The cabin is in a very nice setting with a view of the hills and the creek which is charming. The owner called right after we checked in to see if there was anything we needed. I love the personal touches and this was one of them. I could go on and on, but I'll spare you all the details of our travels. =0) We had a very fun vacation and this cabin was a great find. Highly recommend!

Mountain stay is adequate.

This vrbo was okay. Pros: *Good location/proximity to just about everything. *Gorgeous views. Cons: *Surface clean only. When we arrived someone had used the toilet and not flushed. Yuck. Nothing says welcome like a large dump in the toilet. * Hot tub cover is water logged and VERY heavy to remove. Needs to be replaced. Hot tub looks as if it hasn’t been cleaned in a long while. The smell of mold and bleach was too much and we didn’t use it. My son braved it and his skin broke out. Could have been from the downy sheets however. * Only rent this cabin if you use smelly laundry products and love the smell of Febreeze and Downy.- because the whole house reeks of it. We had to leave just to get away from the smell. And then it is in the sheets so you get to breathe that chemical smell all night. Had a headache from it any time we were in the cabin. * The toilets, showers and fixtures are mediocre to poor. Toilets do not flush well. Signs everywhere say conserve water...but with crappy fixtures you HAVE to use more water. (We live on a septic system as well and good fixtures are a must for proper usage! By the way...laundry products like Downy are HORRIBLE FOR SEPTICS!) * Great deer action. Just do not try and enjoy the creek...deer poop everywhere-and I mean everywhere! We also live in a heavily populated deer area...just have to deal with it. But, people should be forewarned that if you want to hike or even walk to the creek...wear muck boots. * Front door handle was impossible! After 10 hours on the road not being able to easily get into a house is frustrating. Needs to be replaced so that it can actually function as a door handle. * It was extremely icy with thick ice all around the carport and sidewalks outside the house. It would have been nice to have some kind of sand so that we didn’t have to worry about falling on the ice. All three of my children fell down while trying to get into the cabin. * Televisions were questionable to get working...and our whole family is tech savvy. *First morning I started to make coffee in the coffee pot...and it had a crusty old coffee filter with the remains of some past persons batch of coffee in the pot.

Had a great stay! Cabin location and amenities are perfect. Close to all the top attractions the Black Hills have to offer. Close to everything with hardware store and food market less than a mile away in Hill City. Back porch faces mountain and a meadow where we watched several deer. Randy and Bridgette are wonderful hosts! Very responsive and even delivered us a pair of binoculars for the wildlife viewing when we forgot to pack ours. Only downside is the short driveway to the cabin is gravel which can be tricky on a motorcycle. Otherwise, wonderful stay and would definitely reserve again!

Great family vacation

We just spent a wonderful week at the cabin with 5 adults and 2 kids. It was a perfect set up. The kitchen had everything you could imagine. The yard was great for the kids to run around, chase balls. Every morning and evening we could see deer in the distance. Would stay there again in a heartbeat. Thank you.
