Just stayed one night with my family and we didn’t want to leave. The house is over 100 years old but has modern conveniences and was very clean and comfortable. The futon beds were perfect. The AC was strong. And best of all was the food. Dinner was a 12-13 course omakase with fish we’ve never tasted, like blowfish. The breakfast was amazing (I chose the Japanese style) and the lady that prepared it (and checked me in) was super nice and accommodating. The tubs were great to soak in and it was nice to have the privacy (the bath room smelled a little mildewy, but that’s to be expected in a wooden room with high humidity). I Would definitely stay again.

This hotel is incredibly close to one of the most iconic structures of World War II, directly across from the “atomic dome“ which is one of the few buildings left from the atomic bombing of Hiroshima. The hypocenter, where the weapon exploded, is just behind the hotel, which tells you the amazing recovery. The people of Hiroshima have made. I was blown away by the genuine old school Japanese feel. No frills, but all your basics are met, and there is air conditioning that works well. Nobue is the owner, and he is a kind and welcoming soul. Complete with a koi pond and green foliage in the middle of the Ryokan. This is a diamond in the rough, and I will absolutely stay again when I return to Hiroshima.

Staff was very friendly and allowed me to check in before the scheduled time. Even if they Eleonor speak English, they tried hard to accommodate my needs.
