"I’ve stayed here multiple times and always had a great experience — the location alone keeps me coming back. That’s what made this visit so disappointing. The floor in our room was visibly dirty. My daughter walked barefoot and her feet were black. It clearly hadn’t been cleaned properly in some time. Boothbay has limited affordable options, and this place has real potential. But cleanliness isn’t a luxury — it’s a baseline. I hope management takes this seriously, because I’d genuinely like to return."

"Staying at Fisherman's Wharf was convenient. We were there troll hunting at the Botanical Gardens and it was less than 3 miles away. It was close to shops and restaurants and could walk everywhere that we wanted or needed. Kelly's nearby had a great breakfast. It was early season for the town and pretty cold rainy weather but we were ok with that. We only stayed two nights. The room was large, clean, updated bathroom and older furniture. Mini fridge has a small freezer section. Great balcony and view on the second floor room 222. Beautiful schooner right below our deck. Must be really nice in the summer. A little musty smell in the room but understandable thinking they must be locked up all winter and located right on the wharf. Same thing happens once Cape Cod opens up for the summer after no winter activity. Parking right there for guests. heat for the room came on quick and was sufficient. Staff very friendly. All in all I would stay here again, convenient for us seniors."

"The name of the cottage is Morning Glory. From my experience, it’s namesake has many meanings. The sunrise that reflects on the bay, the crisp Maine air one wakes up to, and the welcoming pleasant exchanges one gets from George the owner and builder of this paradise getaway. I told George one morning as I saw him landscaping the property next door that perhaps Maine’s state motto written on license plates, “Vacationland” should be changed to “New England Heaven on Earth” based on my experiences at his Boothbay Cottage."

"Huge snowfall the night we arrived! Power went out, but the house was super prepared with a generator and prompt plowing. The local team was responsive, and the stay couldn’t have been more lovely with snow everywhere and a fire in the fireplace. Bring binoculars to peep birds down on the sound!"

"We loved our stay. The beds are so comfortable. After we figured out the heat, it worked well. We were a little disappointed that there was no firewood for the outside firepit but i contacted the owners and they were just as surprised! We went and bought some firewood from the grocery store (which they quickly reimbursed us for) and then they came the next day with some more. Being a mile from the Botanical Gardens was very convenient. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Thank you "

"We loved visiting this special retreat on Lake Knickerbocker. It's in a wonderful location, only 7 minutes to the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, near great grocery stores and restaurants, and Booth Bay Village. In particular, there was a five star view from the deck! It was a very peaceful stay! We were thrilled to see a pair of Common Loons frequently calling from the lake. We saw Bald Eagles, Ospreys, Great Blue Heron, and even a rare Northern Waterthrush! The hosts were incredibly helpful and nice! They helped make it a wonderful holiday trip. Thank you! "

"This was our first time staying in Boothbay. We loved our time on Barters Island. The house is very comfortable and clean. The dock and grounds are lovely. We rented kayaks and enjoyed exploring the area around the island. We visited nearby land trusts: Porter Point, Ovens Mouth, Oak Point Farm, and Florence Perkins Homestead. We recommend lunch at Newagan Inn and Cozy Dockside in Southport. Property managers were great, responsive and helpful. Thank you!"
