Located on the Hamakua coast in the historical village of Paauhau, this quaint cottage offers incredible ocean views, privacy and romance. Built on the edge of a large gulch with expansive views of greenery leading into the blue ocean it takes one's breath away. Large covered lanai (deck) with comfortable seating and an outside grill. Inside you have a full bathroom with generous tiled shower, comfortable kitchenette with full sink and counter, mini fridge, full-sized bed, twin daybed, and large flat screen T.V. Cable and wi-fi is included.

Bigger than it looks in the picture

The view of the ocean from the lanai is spectacular. We spent many hours just watching wildlife including some dolphinsand the beautiful ocean.

Kolopa State Park and Honoka’a Getaway

Awesome views, peaceful, quiet and close to our favorite State Park, Waimea, and on the Hamakua Coast. Our Lanai had a great view with two outdoor tables and was covered. There was a relaxing outdoor patio as well. The kitchen was complete and the bed was comfortable. We will be back again. Mahalo, Jim and Kim

Wonderful stay at Jim and Kim’s lovely rental the view and the sounds from the Lanai are our favourite place. Landscaping is beautifully done and spacious unit has everything you need. Look forward to our next stay thank you both! Aloha!

Very relaxing stay

We loved this place. It was very quiet and relaxing. It had incredible views of the ocean. We really liked sitting outside on the lanei in the evenings. The property was in a great location and it was just a short drive to some really awesome beaches.

Peaceful and beautiful

This property was delightful. Our hosts Jim and Kim were friendly and right next door if needed. The little house is neat, tidy and decorated with great bohemian thought and original artwork. The yard is manicured and beautiful. Our favorite part of this stay was the evening concert of animals winding down for the night. We loved sitting at the outdoor kitchen table listening to the world quiet down as we watched the ocean at sunset. We will definitely go back.

Dream vacation

Absolutely stunning views of the ocean. The landscape was amazing! Waking up every morning, drinking coffee on the lanai, listening to all kinds of birds and animals. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. A screen door into the home would have been nice to keep bugs from flying inside in the evening.

Fantastic quiet getaway

Great place for a quiet, peaceful trip to Hawaii Island. Host was polite, unit was clean and had everything we needed. Plus the lanai and view were amazing. We would stay here again.

If you like to be away from all the tourists and enjoy nature as it should be, this is the perfect cottage. Kim and Jim have an awesome place with a great ocean view, and are the perfect hosts. Tranquil and quiet cottage on stunning coast

Jim and Kim have a lovely little cottage on the coast! We had a very relaxing stay and enjoyed listening to the cows and the frogs on the lanai each night. The landscaping was stunning! As newlyweds, we wished it was a bit more secluded from the main house.

Lovely cottage separate from the owners house but on the same lot. Great views of the ocean and sunrise. Well equipped kitchenette for self-catering as there are not many restaurants near by, however there is a grocery store in the next town over. Nice to hear the frogs at night, was very soothlng. Morning will bring sounds of cockerels so if you're a light sleeper bring earplugs. There is a fairly soft double mattress and a say bed, making this a perfect getaway for a couple.

A Little Piece of Paradise

Property is as described. Jim and Kim were the perfect hosts. They had lots of information about things to do on the Big Island. This was a perfect spot to relax and plan all your explorations. Words can't describe how truly peaceful and beautiful this property is.
