"On arrival the reception, bar and dining room looked really nice. The first room we were given was very disappointing and looked nothing like the image on the website. It was quite small and had very large dark wood furniture. We requested a different room and the second room was much better. We didn’t understand why we had been given an inferior room to the one we had booked. Receptionist was quite abrupt when we asked to be changed but did it. Food in the bar was good and the waiting staff were lovely. Breakfast was really nice."

"Our double standard room had 2 TV's but only one mirror, which was in the bathroom with a light that did not work. This was not very helpful when 2 of us were trying to get ready. The room was clean but the shower seem to be set to burning your skin off or freezing cold, no inbetween. The lobby/restaurant were nicely decorated with beautful chairs"

"When we arrived on a Saturday late afternoon, it was like entering a nightclub. There was a wedding with an open DJ above the bar area. It was so loud you couldn’t easily hear the staff. When in our room, the music was booming through. We asked to move to another room and they were able to facilitate this. Staff were polite and helpful. The room itself was good; a small but functional bathroom, very comfy bed and good blackout blinds. The window needed a lot of adjustment to close it which took a long time but eventually was shut. Nice to have windows that actually open though. Breakfast was as expected. Quite a good range of food but juices were sub standard, more like a weak squash than a juice. Overall, we slept fairly well and the room was fine but entering a hotel and feeling like you were in a club meant we didn’t want to have a drink at the bar or stay downstairs at all. This may have been a very different experience on a different day. "

"Dusty room issues with grout , tablet on floor ? Extension lead faulty noisy cistern noisy air ductwork… during night .generally old fittings. Request renovated room . Most staff are ok . Breakfast good and brasserie still nice ."

"Fantastic hotel! Excellent staff who were friendly and made checking in a breeze. Hotel is very cool and quirky. Lovely spotlessly clean room with fridge, ironing board & iron, coffee maker and safe. Air conditioning works well too. My room had a superb view of St. George’s Hall… I’d recommend paying a little extra for this view. Right next to Lime Street station too. 5 out of 5 from me."
