Great location, well maintained home with good water and an automatic generator. No worries and a great vacation if you have your own boat it is the best because no need to use the ferry.
Family Tides was perfect for our stay. Each bedroom has its on bath. The views of the lighthouse are spectacular. It is conveniently located close to the marina. Great stay!
We had a wonderful seven nights at Family Tides. Great layout-very quiet-nice view of the Lighthouse. Dock access was very convenient and shuttle service worked smoothly. We will return next year.
Stayed for a week with 2 families and had an amazing time. House is spacious, clean, and well appointed. Dock was perfect for 40' center console with 30 amp service and water available on dock. Will definitely stay here again!
What a perfect location for our Abacos getaway! The home was beautifully decorated, clean and comfortable. Loved the beds and the reclining den furniture! Located just across from the Hope Town Inn and Marina with a gorgeous view of the lighthouse. Have your coffee on the screened porch then hop on your boat docked right outside your door for a day of fun. Can’t say enough about this home! The owner and the property manager were communicative and so very helpful during our stay. The online photos do not do it justice. No doubt we would be thrilled to stay here again!
A truly wonderful experience. Family Tides offers a beautiful setting right on Hopetown Harbor. The spotless home easily accommodated our family of Ten. John (owner) & Charlie (caretaker) addressed all our needs and were a pleasure to work with. Family Tides is the premier property in Hopetown and we look forward to our next visit.
We (4 couples) arrived at the home and were immediately greeted by a property manager ( Charles) who gave us the grand tour and spent at least an hour sharing information about the house, the island, other islands and attractions. The house was perfect! What a wonderful vacation spot!!!
This house was absolutely incredible. We had four couples staying here, and having the ability to each have a king bed and own private bathroom was a game changer. Perfect location for all things Hope Town and the private dock is also amazing. The owner John, and the property manager Charlie were both very considerate and constantly communicated with us throughout the trip.
Family Tides was a great place to stay for our 6 night 8 person vacation.
The views of the Harbor and Lighthouse were unmatched. Truly enjoyed being on a peninsula.
John, the host, provided excellent recommendations for food, restaurants, taxi services and “must do’s” during our stay.
Would definitely stay at Family Tides again.
We had another great stay at Family Tides. Host is great. great home with dock at the back door! very comfortable.
only challenge is access, nice that the ferry from the marina will gladly pick you up and deliver you anywhere in the harbor you want to go. upstairs bedrooms are warm, but you are in the Bahamas!
The house was great for our group (4 couples) with a nice front porch and view of the harbor. Also, the house was very clean. The owner was extremely quick with answering any questions we had. I would note that the house is only accessible by boat which was not an issue as we also rented a boat. Also, there are shuttles that will pick you up for meals at the local restaurants.
Family Tides was so much more than expected. Beautiful private home, private dock and the location was so convenient to everything and all the places we ventured too. The owner and caretaker went above and beyond to assure everything was perfect as well as provided great local knowledge and assistance. We will be back as soon as possible!! Remarkable home!!
This house was more than we could’ve expected! 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms… so everyone had space and privacy. House was clean with new appliances. Charlie was so helpful with anything we needed.
We just stayed at Family Tides for the second time, it is a fabulous location in Hopetown. We had four couples so everyone had their own bedroom and bath which made it perfect for all.We always rent a boat so we can island hop every day within the sea of Abaco. There also is a ferry to go to the restaurants and get to grocery stores nearby. Golf carts are available to rent so access to the island of Hopetown is easily accessible for most everything.I would highly recommend Family Tides as a home base, it is extremely well equipped to make any meals of your choice including grilling fish, steak or burgers. A nice bar for a quick lunch or a large dining table for eight guests to enjoy a wonderful dinner with friends. The dishwasher makes clean up a breeze and a washer and dryer to keep things tidy. The spacious living room is comfy for watching TV in the evening. The front porch has a spectacular view of the lighthouse and harbor dotted with beautiful vessels of all sizes. This is a perfect getaway for a large family or several couples to spend a week of fun and frolic in paradise.Kathi Burns and delighted friends from Maine.
This house was fabulous! The location is beautiful, right across from Hopetown Inn, with a view from the screened porch of the lighthouse and all of the moored sailboats. The dock is great, and has plenty of deep water for boat access. You must have your own boat to come and go from this property, which isn’t really a problem because most guests to the Abacos rent boats to travel around, but it’s important to note. It made our stay super fun and felt like we had our own secluded island. Our guests who arrived after the first day took the Albury ferry across, and the ferry dropped them off right at the family tides dock – it was perfect! The kitchen has a VHF radio in it, so one night we called on channel 16 across to the Hopetown Inn restaurant and asked for their water taxi to come across and pick us up to go there for dinner. They came right over and picked all eight of us up and we had a wonderful dinner, and then they brought us back to the dock. If you want to go into Hopetown to Captain Jack’s, or the shops and small grocery store, there is a public dock to park your boat and walk easily, or, of course, a dock right at Captain Jack’s. For any other logistics or questions, John, or Charlie, the caretaker, are quick to help. The four king size beds are extremely comfortable, and the four couples we had there each had plenty of room and their own bathroom. Thank you John for the wonderful stay!
Just finished a great stay at Family Tides with my wife and 2 other couples. Hope Town is a beautiful Marina town and very comfortable place to spend the week. If you’re not comfortable driving your own boat, definitely get set up with a guide to take you out on the water a few of the days during your stay. That’s what makes The Abacos so remarkable. For those that are, Island Marine is the go to place to rent a nice center console boat to get you around. We rented their 23ft Albury and had more than enough room for all 6 of us. They are always so accommodating and very reasonably priced.
As other reviews stated, it’s a golf cart community, so definitely rent one from one of the local shops in Hope Town. We were able to get a 6-person cart.
Definitely hit up On Da Beach, Firefly for a sunset cocktail, and our best meal was lunch at The Abaco Inn.
Now onto the house. The owner was super responsive and continually checked in with us throughout the stay. It is exactly how it is pictured and we loved being somewhat isolated on our own side of the Marina. Very clean and comfortable accommodations. We could have easily fit another couple in there with us as well.
Also… if you strike out on hunting for lobster (like we did) ask someone local to give you Gypsy Seafoods number. Just a local guy with fresh catches for the day. We picked up lobster tails and grouper to cook at the house.
Amazing stay!
Greeted by nurse sharks and sea turtles at our dock.. easiest boat dock to park at in the Abacos.. House is amazing, clean, and functional.. call a ferry and your in town or at hope town inn in less than 2 minutes.. location is really perfect
Family Tides was perfect for our group of 7. We woke up our first morning to dolphins and sea turtles swimming under the dock! We had coffee on the porch and saw them most mornings. The beds were very comfortable and the house was immaculate. We kept our rental boat on the dock and found incredible snorkeling while exploring the area. We had an amazing stay!
