Every single person we met was so kind and caring. They arranged transport from Belize city to the hotel and the concierge was so worried we wouldn’t arrive in time he messaged our driver to get our order so food was available upon our arrival. He went above and beyond so many times.

Nice upscale resort

Only one night for us, but enjoyed the resort. We arrived 2.5 hours before check in, but they provided us complimentary drinks so we went to the restaurant/bar and met King, the bartender. Really enjoyed our drinks while we chatted with him and he provided a recommendation to go visit the local chocolate company about 15 min away, which worked out for us. We were in the 1 BR, which is the upstairs of each building. Great space with a balcony looking out to the sea. Food was excellent in the restaurant and plenty of workers taking care of the grounds. Note - Sargassum was heavy - washed up in piles and still floating off the edge of the beach. The next morning they were working to clear the beach, but we were only there the one night. Nice touch was the robes in the room for use! Note - No ice machines available but was able to get some for our cooler from the restaurant before we hit the road.

Before I left for Belize, I was in a dark place. I booked this trip as a last-ditch effort to find some peace of mind, and looking back, it was the best decision I could’ve made. I originally planned to stay somewhere else, but when that resort was fully booked, I landed here instead—and I truly believe everything happens for a reason. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed, safe, and cared for. I met some incredible people who I can’t even call staff—they felt like friends. Michelle, Wilber, King, Kobe, Tanisha—everyone was so kind, and once they found out I was traveling solo, they always checked on me. Michelle even helped me find someone to do my hair! Their warmth made my stay unforgettable. About Hopkins Village: This isn’t just a place to visit; it’s a place to experience. Everyone smiles at you, everyone is kind—just make sure you’re kind back. It’s a humble beachside village full of love, culture, and flavor, and that’s what makes it special. A Few Things to Know: 🔹 No full-length mirror in my room—something to keep in mind if that matters to you. 🔹 The restaurant closes about an hour after check-in (around 4:30 PM), so if you’re arriving late, grab some food beforehand or wait until dinner at 6. Other than that, this stay was exactly what I needed. If you’re looking for a resort where you’re treated like family, where the people truly care, and where you can reconnect with yourself in a beautiful, peaceful setting, this is the place. I'd return in a beat.

Hopkins Bay Resort is an exquisite property, one of the finest we have enjoyed in our travels. From check-in to departure, the staff elevated every experience. Rooms are beautiful, the setting breathtaking, the facilities and grounds wonderful, the dining a real pleasure. From our greeting by the ladies at the front desk and Cass at our welcome, to King and Amalda at the restaurant, everyone and everything about this resort makes us want to return again and again.

We loved our stay here. All our rooms in the bungalow had floor ceiling glass doors and had beautiful ocean views. Staff was courteous. The only issue was the restaurant menu had limited choices for vegetarians so we didn't eat there much.
