"My family booked a premium room at a wellness spa. This is not what we experienced. Access to the room was via a narrow staircase into the loft. No hand rails. Narrow steps. Basic health and safety issue. The room felt like a half converted loft. Curtains simply hid what was basically an area of junk. The bunk bed for the kids has a large spike just above it. "Our stay at the Novotel Hotel in Ghent, the Netherlands, 15-17 Oct 2025 was excellent. With the exception of a couple of people, overall, the hotel's staff was friendly and hospitable. The photos matched the room -- clean and roomy. The mirror in the bathroom was a foot higher above my head (5 foot 2 inches) and the lighting was not bright enough. A light in the entrance way was broken, and not fixed during our 2 day stay, even though a cleaning staff member knew and promised to have it fixed. When requested our daily supply of coffee packages, both the front desk (condescending) and the cleaning staff were not readily responsive. BTB Fresno, CA, USA"
