Complete nightmare. The holiday home was filthy on arrival: a dirty garbage bin, balcony covered in bird droppings, foul-smelling back wall, and unwashed dishes. We even had to clean up items left by previous guests. Despite this, DanCenter is charging a €30 cleaning fee, claiming we left it dirty. This is an outright lie, and we have photos to prove it.
Beyond cleanliness, our experience was plagued by issues:
Hidden Fees/Misleading Policies: Refused timely linen package requests, forcing us to buy them locally.
Unprofessional Communication: Critical info (like a non-drinkable water advisory) was sent in Dutch/German despite our English correspondence.
Unresolved Property Issues: Failed to clarify water consumption numbers, causing wasted time.
When we disputed the false cleaning fee, DanCenter resorted to intimidation, threatening debt collection. This is deeply unethical.
This isn't an isolated incident. Danish media outlet DR.dk has investigated similar complaints against DanCenter (report: "Sommerhus-kunder føler sig ladt i stikken af DanCenter: - Det er umuligt at få fat," May 29). This public investigation confirms their systemic issues.
I strongly advise against booking with DanCenter. Their properties are poorly maintained, customer service is non-existent, and they'll try to nickel-and-dime you with fraudulent charges. Look elsewhere.
