"We had four adults in our party. The bunkhouse felt very roomy, bright and cozy. We all slept comfortably. With the roll out mattress (all mattresses fitted with fresh, clean sheets) under the bunk bed and the cushions around the table, sleeping arrangement design was well thought out. The host communicated via Vrbo email and direct messaging, which made it very easy. Excellent communication along with all the detailed information a traveller could want/need - even a video link on how to operate the indoor portable toilet. The kitchen had a large, open counter space for prepping meals. Though there is not a stove, there were plenty of cooking options: a small propane grill outside, a hot plate, microwave, and convection oven/toaster. We appreciated the filtered water pump in the kitchen sink and the multiple jugs of water available. Not having to haul in water is a huge deal.It was more of a forrest experience than a lake experience. Though the bunkhouse is close to Lake Superior, it was hard to see the lake through the trees. There is a large cabin next door but we still felt we had a very secluded, peaceful experience. There is a small private deck in the back of the bunkhouse. I feel the bunkhouse experience could be enhanced with a larger front deck. I was told that it was in the works/plans.As someone who has done a fair amount of cabin rentals and camping on the North Shore, this is a GREAT value/bargain for all the conveniences and location! Recommend!"
