"The queens is a great place for a couple of nights. Lovely staff , very attentive staff great food and drinks. Our Dog was very welcome and the outside facilities and car park were great. We were in an electric car so disappointed that there was no EV charging point. There are fast chargers in Penrith."

"What a lovely old school pub and hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was great (a lot of locals seemed to be eating here too). Room was simple but comfortable and very clean. "Very friendly staff in popular and welcoming village local. We only stayed one night and didn't eat here though the menu looked great. Obviously popular with locals and tourists alike for a small village it was busy on the Saturday night we stayed. Room was clean and comfortable though dated. The bed was a bit older than some but perfectly pleasant. The surrounding area is stunning with plenty to do within a short drive and lots of walking on your doorstep. Overall a most enjoyable stay. "

"Horrendous journey to the Fox and Pheasant. Worried we would miss the dinner cut off time we called through. Been traveling for over 10 hours! No problem arrive very tied to a lovely bowl of soup. Feel in to bed and had an amazing sleep. Set off next morning after a fantastic breakfast and a lovely packed lunch. Defo stop off again"

"I was taken to the room, which was somewhat cramped with ever-so-slightly grubby duvets and extremely thin pillows.
