"Amazing old 17th century palace recently renovated to extremely high standard. A beautiful building with very attentive staff. A good night's sleep in a very quiet room with amazing wooded ceiling One small gripe, you have to check in at another hotel down the road! Not a massive problem, but not so great if it's getting late and you're tired."

We had dinner at the hotel which was excellent and a good breakfast. "This is a fantastic little B&B. The lady running the place was ever so friendly, helpful and patient with our efforts to communicate in Spanish. Each room has its own private entrance, so you feel like you have your privacy. Although there's no air conditioning, you can manage the summer temperatures somewhat by keeping the shutters down and the windows cracked open. The "lavender room" we stayed in had heart-shaped rugs and pillows, and even a heart-shaped bath. It was great! Breakfast was plentiful and delicious, so also recommended."

"Nice gardens surrounding the house/palace in an isolated natural place inviting to relaxing and enjoy nature. Only 30 minutes to Santoña and other attractions. Restaurant team very friendly but people at reception were not friendly not knowledgeable, so making some situations uneasy. Only breakfast and dinner offered at the hotel restaurants. Food was quite good. A couple of local small restaurants in the town. We likes Casa de Montaña."
