"Nice and comfy room. Beautiful garden with many beautiful birds and other wildlife. Close to the beach. Plus is for the distance to Galle Road (which is very noisy). The dinner was good, but far from great. The curry’s are way to salty. Same as for the breakfast (don’t try the chocolate pancakes). Beautiful place and very friendly staff. - Big minus for the hotels own landfill that you see if you take a walk outside the fences. They should really clean that up. Not ok! "

"Stayed for two weeks in September 2023. For starters, the host family at Talalla Freedom are wonderful. Helpful, friendly, adjusted to my food allergies, went over and beyond. Rs 250 for a pot of fresh tea. The pool is lovely and well kept, the view and access to Talalla beach is phenomenal (as long as you don't have any mobility issues. Beds are Sri Lanka firm but comfy. "Good parts. Location for beach, size of axcomodation, privacy, quite modern. Bad parts.. paid for breakfast NO BREAKFAST!!! NO WIFI AT ALL!!! NO HOT WATER AT ALL!! Then there was other things that it said the accomodation had but wasnt there...ie desk, slippers, bottled water. Worst of all the accomodation is next door to a temple that has chanting through a loud speaker starting at 05.30am and lasts about 45 minutes. This is repeated at 6pm....very loud."

"We stayed in the King Coco room which was great. Large room, large bathroom, comfortable king size bed and a balcony with seating and garden furniture with a pool and sea view. Suresh and the team at Coco Tangalla were excellent. They were extremely helpful and attentive we felt we could ask them anything. Breakfast was amazing, fresh fruit, homemade juices, delicious coffee and a choice of main breakfast, either Sr Lankan, European/American or healthy option. Pool area was very clean with comfortable sunbeds. Would definitely consider coming back."

"We had an exceptional stay at Turtle Bay. From start to finish, the service was a consistent **5-star experience**; every staff member went above and beyond, and we were honestly gutted to only be staying for one night. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a very warm welcome, including cold cloths and a refreshing drink—exactly what we needed after a long journey. Our room (Green Turtle) was lovely: spacious, featuring twin beds, dressing gowns, and a large bathroom stocked with toiletries. We also had a generous balcony overlooking the pool and beach, which provided the perfect vantage point for sunset views. This was one of the only rooms we stayed in in Sri Lanka that had a full length mirror, an added bonus. The only thing we found was the sheet on the bed wasn't quite enough for us, and we should have asked for a blanket but didn't at the time, otherwise we slept very well and the beds were very comfortable. The restaurant offered a fantastic range of dinner options, from fresh seafood and local delicacies to international dishes—all at very reasonable prices. **Note:** While everything is priced in USD, payment is made in LKR. Breakfast was equally impressive, with a great selection including fresh fruit platters, made-to-order omelettes, and toast. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive throughout our visit. "I must be honest at first I was a bit sceptical about staying in this place. The pictures just didn’t make me feel like it would be a place I want to stay at. So I booked just a few days and then I ended up extending my stay and I stayed here for two weeks I absolutely loved it. The guys that work here were always so attentive and anything I needed or wanted just to make my stay more comfortable. They would always try to get for me. I am so grateful for everyone who works here. I felt safe. I felt taken care of. I will definitely be back. I miss it here every day."
