All the staff are excellent. Bed was really comfortable. The showers were great and lovely fluffy towels. Hotel just a little tired in places. Definitely stop again.

Lovely location

The hotel looks grand from the outside but needs a little TLC. It had just been taken over by a new company so info on website and in guestrooms was not up to date regarding breakfast and dinner service times and parking. The staff were lovely, friendly and helpful and we enjoyed our stay.

Should be Amazing but

The Hotel is in a beautiful position with fabulous views of the sea. We had not been advised regarding booking parking and didn’t see it in info. There is also no blue badge parking out at the front of the hotel. On arrival check in staff were blunt and not friendly unfortunately. So not a great start. Room a good size, bed comfortable. Clean but needs a refurbishment as walls need painting and bringing up to a better standard. Staff in restaurant very nice, friendly and helpful. We met the night porter as returning late and he was very nice, chatty and helpful. Only stayed one night and room was expensive for what we got but all local prices hiked due to concerts on bank holiday. This should be an amazing place to stay building is impressive from outside and views. Check in staff need to be a more welcoming face of the hotel or at least the gentleman we had, and some areas need a refresh.

The Golden Lion Hotel is in a great location in Hunstanton overlooking the green and just yards from the seafront. We stayed for one night and had a family room on the first floor which was large and airy with comfortable beds. The only downside was the very small tv which was no bigger than a laptop - far too small for such a large room. The bathroom was large but perhaps in need of a little tlc. Wi-fi in the room was very good - I was able to watch the Test Match on Sky on my iPad with no buffering!. The breakfast was good with a decent selection of items with the cooked breakfast being a pick and mix selection which you order from the staff and other items being help yourself. Service was quick and the food was served hot but staff were sometimes slow to replenish some of the items such as fruit, bread and plates!. The hotel has some resident parking spaces costing £6 per day but these are limited and you are advised to reserve a space in advance of your stay. There are some free parking spaces in front of the hotel but these fill up quickly. We found all of the staff in the hotel to be friendly and helpful. The Golden Lion Hotel is not luxurious but is nice Hotel in a great location. If we were to visit Hunstanton again we would definitely stay there.

Hotel is a bit ‘tired’ and our room needed a bit of TLC. The bed was comfy and the view was great but the overall decor and feel of the room didn’t match the price. Had we not used vouchers for some of the cost, we would have been disappointed.

A pleasant stay in the Golden Lion in Hunstanton. Clean and spacious with all the necessary ameneties such as extra pillows, a fan, hairdryer, kettle and hot beverage provisions, tv & remote, towels & sheet gel. We had a ground floor room which had a large wet room. The bed was a double which was reasonably comfortable although the mattress was rather soft so it tipped with the weight of another person. All the usual continental breakfast things were provided although the coffee was not drinkable. It was very weak with no real discernible coffee flavour which was disappointing. If you’re a coffee lover then take your own. The cooked breakfast is served on a very small plate slightly larger than a side plate and very small portions. The scrambled egg is powdered which was very disappointing. Okay if you don’t move much in your sleep , skip breakfast and buy elsewhere.

Excellent staff, superb location and relaxing

From the first greeting at reception to the goodbye as we left. EVERY member of staff was superb. They welcomed us with our dog and nothing was too much trouble. We were even allowed to enjoy breakfast and keep the dog with us in a separate area designated for people with pooches. Next time I will book earlier so we can stay longer.

The staff at the Hotel were very pleasant, and the room was clean. Room was small but had everything that was needed and a good sea view. Kitchens close at 7.30 in evening around whole town so earlier dinner recommended.

the view overlooking the sea made the weekend the staff were great just feel overall not value for money. breakfast was fine dining was not so good.
